Cartier Love Bracelet-Brand new or pre loved?

Go for second hand one, definitely. This is why:
Gold is not like bags or shoes. If you buy shoes, their values will only go down whether you wear them or not. Gold however, retains its value forever. Furthermore it doesn't decline or rust so 10 years from now your gold will not turn into something else. So how do we put these together?
If you buy a second hand bracelet for say $2000 on eBay today, you could sell it for $2000 ten years later. As a matter a fact I bought a white gold one last year for that sum from eBay and today I see the price is close to $3000. It was a bit scratched but I had it polished for $150 at Cartier and it looked like new again. I would still make profit if I sold it now but no... I will probably do that later when I get old and my arms are getting thinner.

I'd say that if you know what you are buying then it wouldn't hurt to try eBay.
All the bracelets on eBay have their prices slashed by around 50% of store prices. That means thousands of dollars in saving, a good enough reason to study a little bit about love bracelets. I read on the other thread that the store price for 10 diamond love bangle is around $12000-$13000. Last week I saw one on eBay for $7000 . It's cheap, but not cheap enough for me now
If you're thinking about authenticity then my suggestion is pay every purchase with paypal. You can get your full money back in case something goes wrong. You should read some other thread that discusses it.

UNLESS...you are getting from a reputable vintage jewelry store that sends their bracelets to Cartier to recondition and polish...buy only from either a boutique or an instore boutique. NM in Houston has a boutique. That way you'll at least get incircle points.
^Not all Saks sells Cartier Jewelry only 2 or 3 stores nationwide (they have their little Cartier Boutique inside Saks) and almost all Saks have Cartier watches only and not jewelry.

If you go the used route, be very careful to do your research and get the proper documentation. That said, if you can find a reputable dealer and get an authentic used bracelet, go for it! I recently purchased my engagement ring off of eBay, it is a Tiffany diamond ring, I paid approx. 40% off of retail, the ring looks great, and Tiffany serviced it with no problem. Prior to buying, I checked the seller's feedback and saw that he had sold lots of authentic items. I also purchased with my credit card so I would have insurance in case the item was not authentic. Luckily, it worked out great for me, I love my ring and got a super deal. Absolutely, if you can get a legitimate used bracelet, I would recommend that route.
Hello everyone, just want to report back w/my decision about this bracelet. My intention was pre own from Ebay, but all of sudden the selections shrink, leaving little to none in size 17. As I was waiting for more to show up, Saks is having the fantastic Double on Double deal plus an once in a blue moon Cartier trunk show in my city just before the promo kick off. My SA and I took it as sign to plunge in and get it from Saks, not only it's tax free (8.25% of a savings), I'm also getting 24% back in forms of Saks reward cards with this promo

^yes, YG plain bracelet (leaving the Diamond version for SO to upgrade lol). It's 3800, and based on my Saks charge card level, a whopping $912 of GC will be in my hand by the end of this year + 313.50 of tax I didn't have to pay. I also put it on my Major Purchase account, so it's interest free for one year

Another reason to get it brand new, is that the bracelet comes in different sizes. The bangle might also fit differently on either wrist. I had this problem with which size to get, and I returned to Cartier to re-try on another size before I was satisfied. Remember, you want it to really be comfortable, since you use the screwdriver to take it off. I wear mine 24-7
