My first High Jewelry purchase. Introducing what is, for me, the ring of all rings: the Indomptables de Cartier. A panther with zebra stripes that also ingeniously looks like a tiger. Someone please PINCH ME--I can’t believe it.

I adore everything about big cats and the panther (+ tiger!) is no exception. For the last two years, the Massai ring with lacquer spots had been firmly on my wish list. I was ready to purchase it this year for my birthday, commensurate with my own Cartier tradition that started at age 30 (and what a slippery slope THAT has been). When the Indomptables collection was released, I fell in LOVE with this piece, but quickly wrote it off as probably difficult to get and the steep price tag helped. Since then, I’ve seen this ring all of twice in any boutique, and it wasn’t until our second meeting when I went in to purchase the Massai that I dared to try it on. My heart spluttered to a screeching halt as soon as it hit my finger. Breathless, I asked if my size was available--I knew right then that this was it for me. The boutique manager said there might be one in the country that could be brought in. 72 hours later, this stunner is now mine.

The craftsmanship on this piece is unlike anything I have ever seen; there is meticulous, unbelievable detail at every angle. Photos will never do it justice. “Indomitable" is the perfect name for this collection and it is a word that holds so much meaning for me. I truly cannot express how powerful (and devastatingly chic) I feel when looking down and seeing this on my hand. Jewelry truly can evoke so many meaningful emotions, each one as precious as the adornment itself. Thanks for letting me share my glee!
