Does anyone have experience in getting the earring posts changed as an earring alteration? I'm finding my earring posts a bit too thick and short to be comfortable, and would like to swap them out for thinner ones.
I have had this done recently. I often have the posts thinned and lengthened for my VCA stud earrings, so I decided to send in a Cartier pair I have had for many years to see if this modification would make me wear them more. They are comfortable, I suppose, but the length of the post had me laughing out loud when I opened the box! Therefore, I would probably not lengthen the posts if I had it to do again, or perhaps just specify an exact length and let my SA get back to me with options once they are evaluated in the workshop. I think there was a very small fee involved ~150-200. This was in the USA.I would dearly love to know as well, only VCA has been able to do so for me. So far Cartier has declined any post alterations. However I do need to add that my newest Panthere earrings posts are now noticeably thinner and longer. I believe Cartier had addressed this issue for us with newer models. Which design are yours?

I actually find it kind of charming, even though it is ridiculous. Cartier always goes above and beyond for service in my experience, and I feel like they just did what they thought I wanted and a little extra for good measure!

Trinity mini hoops, though I did notice there's two versions of this on the website with different product numbers but the same product name and price. It would be interesting if the difference between two were the posts!I would dearly love to know as well, only VCA has been able to do so for me. So far Cartier has declined any post alterations. Thanks for this, the pictures really help! That's quite a difference after the swap but good to know it's something they can do, I knew VCA would but wasn't sure about Cartier.I have had this done recently. Maybe it depends on who you ask as I know from tpf that @BigAkoya changes her VCA posts to thinner ones but keeps the standard length. That’s the standard length for the thin posts. I inquired about that when I was checking the C de Cartier earrings. They were on display with both short & thick, and thin & long posts. They cannot shorten the length.
I think the same holds true for VCA. I asked them as well.
Not changed but I experienced pain when wearing my small love hoops for the first time and was worried. As I figured out the post was thicker than what I wore before I kept them on 24/7 and after a few days my ears stopped hurting.Does anyone have experience in getting the earring posts changed as an earring alteration? I certainly don't know all of the details, but I have had some of my VCA posts changed to thinner and longer posts, and they are not even close to this long! That’s the standard length for the thin posts. You are very welcome! I have been having a lot of trouble with my piercings lately. My ears are swelling and bleeding with almost any earrings. I was going to a social event today and wanted to wear earrings; this conversation made me remember this Cartier pair and I thought it was worth a try. I actually was able to wear them without discomfort or bleeding, so it really does make a difference for sensitive ears. Thanks for this, the pictures really help! So I was able to get the answer for this with customer support: the difference is indeed due to a redesign that included longer posts (by 3mm). Getting the original posts swapped out is also an option.Trinity mini hoops, though I did notice there's two versions of this on the website with different product numbers but the same product name and price. I lengthened my Trinity hoops last year. It took two weeks. I had three pair of Cartier earrings lengthened at the same time so it might be faster with just one pair, not sure. Didn’t notice a change in thickness so I assume I received their standard posts, just slightly longer. How long did it take for earring adjustment? I’d like the posts on my Trinity earrings to be extended/thinned
Where did you get your seconds? I love them!!So excited to add these 3 pairs to my collection! Used to own only VCA earrings but these are STUNNING!
