Just my thoughts, but I really liked the design of the D'Amour / Tiffany diamonds by the yard and was leaning toward the Tiffany as wanted a white metal and there's was platinum as opposed to white gold. In the Tiffany thread someone had mentioned a place online that made something similar design wise, but I could pick the metal and the diamond size.

In the end I decided that the branding for something so simple probably wasn't worth the extra expense, so went with a slightly larger diamond with a platinum chain at about half the price.

Could you ask the jeweller to reset the 0.50 in a similar way perhaps? Or even an alternative diamond. Admittedly you won't get the lovely clasp, but from the front if mounted in a similar bezel setting you'll get a lot more bang for your buck!

Yes, I thought of that idea as well! Even maybe get rid of the bail and keep the 6 prong setting, just attach it on the sides to a pretty chain....I've tried on Tiffany's DBTY 0,08 ct last year in the boutique and it was so tiny and lightweight that I went with the Heart tag necklace in yellow gold instead ( and haven't regretted it, it's my now 24/7 necklace).
The diamond of a 0,50 ct pendant is Canadian diamond, and it sparkles beautifully when worn.

I had mine shortened to try prevent the flipping, Cartier sized it based on my wrist measurement. But it is so uncomfortable, in warm weather it feels like a tight hair elastic around my wrist. It now lives in my jewellery box permanently. I have also tried a Merjui version as these are sized. This also constantly flipped.
That’s really helpful to know thank you!

Hi ladies,
Well I also am jumping in in the discussion...not sure if I need to start separate thread for this question or not...

I have an appointment soon to try on D'amour xs necklace. I'm going with this size because of the budget and I'm petite so I think it'll look good.

However I got a chance to buy a 0,50 ct diamond round solitaire pendant from a local jeweler for the same price as D'amour XS. It's beautiful, classic 6 prong setting with a bail, only it has an inclusion that I can see with the naked eye. Other than that inclusion it sparkles, and is beautiful.

Would it be Worth it to get the solitaire despite the inclusion ( 900,00 Eur for a 0,50 ct is a steal isn't it???). On the other hand, D'amour necklace is beautiful and what I was set on for the longest time before this solitaire came into my life.....

This necklace will be my 24/7 piece, currently I'm wearing Return to tiffany heart tag in yellow gold 24/7, since last June and I'm wanting something different. I don't switch out my jewelry, once it's on its on for a long time.

Also, I currently have only one other Cartier piece and it's my Love cuff in yellow gold ( I adore this piece, and it's my 24/7 piece as well).

Would love outside opinions because my head is spinning thinking this through lol.
I have the D’amour pink sapphire necklace. I don’t know what the carat weight is but I will say, the stone is very small. At one point I thought about getting the diamond D’amour necklace in white gold with the diamond, but honestly I would prefer a bigger stone for the price 😅 that being said, the quality is amazing, and the chain is so beautiful. I love the Cartier bezel setting, and one of my favorite pieces I own is my white gold D’amour bracelet. The bracelet feels good for my wrist since I’m fairly petite, but I wear it alone and never stacked. If I were you I would probably go for the .50 carat from your local jeweler because it’s a more substantial diamond and a better price. As long as you love the chain and the setting, I think it’s a good choice. I hope that helps! Let us know what you decide 🩷

Thank you, I have my appointment at Cartier on the 19th. I need to look at the d'amour in person...I'll decide then.
My dilemma is also do I want a diamond necklace or do I want a Cartier necklace...my only Cartier piece is my cuff and it'll be a while before I add another piece. On one hand I love the bigger diamond pendant and on the other I'd love to expand my Cartier collection, even if it's something small and dainty like d'amour necklace.

I think with Cartier, a lot of appeal is how shiny the chain is. I don’t think you will get that from a jeweler but I could be wrong. Plus it has the tail that dangles. I have the xs small necklace and I think it is very cute and special.
I definitely need to see the D'amour in person. The pendant from the jeweler doesn't come with the chain, I have my own gold chain that I was thinking on using...I haven't seen Cartier chains in person but as far as I could tell on Youtube they are so pretty. It's a tough one but a good problem to have:-).
Thank you for your opinion!

Hi everyone,
Update: I went with the D'amour XS! At the end of the day, it was important to me to expand my Cartier collection and have brand history behind the piece. I change my pieces once every few.years so this little beauty will be my 24/7 necklace well into 2025! The chain sparkle is really what it's cracked up to be!!

Looks gorgeous on you! Thank you for coming back and updating the thread, so many people ask questions and then never do say what they decided!

all,

I just ordered a Cartier d amour yg large/regular size bracelet. It is smaller than I was expecting, and based on what I have seen on here. Does Cartier put the carat info anywhere on the bracelet? Under the serial is just some sort of makers mark.

But maybe it’s just my beefy wrist in comparison to the petite wrists on here??

Hi it's 0.13 carat with diameter 5.03mm as listed on the website.
I've tried it last year and found it underwhelming on my 14.5 to 15cm wrist so I got the pink sapphire version for a pop of colour.

Hi, I have the same bracelet and I love it! You can have Cartier lengthen the bracelet for you ( free of charge ). You won’t feel “beefy” if it’s looser. I think you will love it 😍

Another update: I returned XS necklace and got Trinity cord bracelet instead. I couldn't sleep last night thinking I made a wrong decision. The D'amour necklace was so tiny, it kept going around my neck constantly and getting lost in my huge birth mark on my throat.
I've wanted the Trinity cord for YEARS now. I LOVE it. I had them put it on red cord immediately and wore it out of the store. It's gorgeous and looks so awesome with my live love cuff. Now I have my own Cartier mini stack too!! I'm so excited.
I think I convinced myself that I wanted D'amour necklace, watching so many YouTube videos etc. But it felt so right when she put the bracelet on my arm! I'm content now. I'll post a picture when I get home.
As far as the necklace goes, I'll continue my quest and most likely get something non designer eventually....

I think choosing something you have wanted for years is a good plan.
