Cartier Charity Love Bracelet

I like it, and I'm almost willing to part with the $$$ to get it. It does make me question my priorities. If I'm so concerned with charitable causes, I could just donate the purchase amount to my charity of choice, instead of displaying it on the color of the thread on my wrist.

*sigh* I agree that the amt of gold-to-price ratio is waaay off, but it's an adorable bracelet, and as there is no boutique locally (yet!) on Maui, I avoid the temptation....

We got a blue one in Scottsdale over New Year's and I think it's really cute but it flips over on my wrist. I do tighten it up but I don't know if it's the right look for me. I may take off the cord and wear the ring on a chain or bracelet. Would make a cute charm.

We didn't buy it because of the investment in the gold, we got it because (a) it is for a good cause, and (b) it's a signature Cartier piece at an affordable price. I think they said $150 went to charity.

As mucha s I can spend money without thinking...not as the result of affleunce, but jsut in shopping.

I love jewelry as much as the next girl, but I think that is a bit extravagant in price for a bracelet made with string. :s

I tried it on for fun at Cartier, the SA told me that I could choose the color of the band I wanted and the charity I wanted (out of their list of course). So I could go for a donation to the Breast Cancer foundation for example, but still get a black band. And if I ever wanted another color, that was no problem. Sounds tempting... :smile1:

I've been in love with this bracelet, i'd prefer to donate the money and have them knock down the price but still a good thought of their behalf i suppose... i LOVE the baby pink one, i wish they had one to benefit animals though....

After June 8, 2007, they will also be available with a white gold charm instead of the rose gold. I'm trying to decide if i want one or not. I think they are really cute but do worry about how long the string portion will continue to look good.

The rep at Cartier told me that you can get a color that represents one charity and actually have the $100 go to another charity. I also am conflicted on the color to get! Here's more info:

I have the rose gold one and definately want to get a white gold one!

BTW - the silk cords hold up very well. The colors do not fade. Also, most boutiques will replace the cord with a new one at no charge (in any color). I originally bought a light blue one (for unicef) but the cord I have right now is gold silk (more like a neutral tan). I also have a purple cord with the mini rolling ring (the original version of this bracelet from about 2 years ago).
