Carmel in Creme: Good idea or not? Need advice please.

I have this in black as well (actually carried it today), and I LOVE it. Seriously, I don't remember the last time I was so happy with a bag's form AND function.

I can see the point about a lining, but this is so lightweight and easy to carry, even with a bunch of stuff loaded into it. I plan on using mine for travel for that reason, but I think it could be a good work bag too.

I do think an organizer could be a good idea for a light-colored, unlined bag, though, to keep the inside looking good as well as the outside.

Thanks for your reply! If I purchase this bag (leaning more toward a yes as each day passes lol) I’m going to order the organizer suggested. More than just protecting the inside and offering organization, I like how organizers help handbags retain a certain shape. Everyone so far has really loved their Carmel. Not surprising for me to hear that. I’m pretty smitten at this point :biggrin:

I own this exact color mahina leather but in the hina tote. This color is so versatile it can be worn in any season for many occasions. It also does not seem to get color transfer either so that is great news as well!

I am over the moon for this handbag. I think it is beyond gorgeous. Would love to add it to my collection but have a couple of hesitations. I’ve never owned a bag this light in color. I’m careful and take care of my things but afraid of keeping it clean. I don’t plan on wearing with denim. Will mostly use this for work. I wear a lot of black, grey, and neutral suiting. Also, is this creme color only for spring/summer or can it be worn year round? To date, I’ve stuck with a couple of mono bags and several black bags. Only recently ventured out and purchased a light blue Girolata bag. Does anyone own this bag or a creme color mahina bag? All advice/thoughts are welcomed and would be greatly appreciated. TIA!

I do not use an organizer. I put everything in pouches or SLGs for protection and organization. I change bags a lot and an organizer would not fit in every bag.

Thank you so much! I love the versatility and that this bag is similar to the Neverfull, but leather and not as common. I just ordered one in galet in the PM size, as well as another MM in black. It’s so lightweight and looks so pulled together and chic.

Your handbag is gorgeous! I love the Hina style and versatility of being a tote or cinched to be a bucket. Thanks for the picture and the info about it not having color transfer! Do you ever use an organizer in it?

It seems to be a very well made bag but a little on busy side in the creme and Carmel color .. I love the black more ! It doesn’t seem like it would be very comfortable as a shoulder bag . I like the one without the twisted handle in the beige better . I haven’t seen it in person just my opinion.

I’m not a shoulder bag person at all, but I do find it comfortable carrying it this way. I haven’t worn it with a sleeveless top yet, though, which may change my opinion.

I tried it on in a boutique with my things in it (I don’t carry a ton) and the braided handle didn’t bother me. Haven’t tried it on with a sleeveless shirt. I do love the black but that’s my go-to handbag color and I already have a few black bags. Was hoping to branch out and introduce some other colors to my collection.

I think lighter color mahina bags show the LV perforations better, I would definitely get creme or galet. I’m partial to galet- I have the Babylone bb in that color.

Love the color Galet as well. Such a beautiful neutral! I agree on the comment that it’s easier to see the perforations on lighter mahina bags. I think that’s why i was drawn to my Girolata. I’m still swooning over it lol.

Can anyone please tell me how they still feel about this Carmel bag? I am looking at purchasing one in creme. Also, if someone could chime in, I am really interested in Artsy Empreinte leather vs this Carmel bag......thoughts? Which is better? TIA

My advice is to protect with Collonil waterstop or Collonil Carbon Pro to make it easier to wipe stains off. It won’t be a perfect solution, but it definitely helps. I have no color transfer on my light colored mahina leather. Collonil leaves no scent, no residue, and does not change the look or feel of the leather. Try it on something inexpensive first if you have doubts. I’ve used it on the lightest most delicate lambskin. I put it on every bag and suede shoes.

I have the Carmel in black, and the Artsy in black empreinte...I prefer the Carmel, as it is much more lightweight. The Artsy in empreinte is probably more resilient, but I have managed to get caught in the rain with my mahina bags, and nothing awful happened. Just wiped them down, and all is well.
Corner wear will probably happen with both at some point. My Artsy is still fine, and I really used it a lot for well over two years. I've only had my Carmel for a year so it is not showing any signs of wear yet. But I have had a mahina Babylon for almost three years, and it has held up really well. I was so worried about the leather initially. Compelety unwarranted. I just love how the mahina weighs next to nothing. The only thing that I have noticed, is that I can fit my iPad quite easily through the Artsy opening, but find that more difficult with the Carmel. The opening seems a tighter fit. I rarely need to do that. I have other of bags for that purpose, so it is really not a drawback. Both bags fit plenty.
The Carmel is less obviously monogrammed, which I like. And I take off all the tags and bits that it comes with. Too busy looking for me. But that is a personal preference.
Hope this helps & all the Best !!-)
