Is the Capucines handbags considered a classic or is it just a super hyped handbag? The price has gone up so much since it was first introduced in 2013. I saw it on display at LV boutique and tried on the BB size in black. I didn't think I would like it so much but it's actually very nice and sturdy and the leather is not as delicate as Chanel or Lady Dior. The price has gone up so much, $6750 for a BB size and I'm sure the price will only go on the next price increase so I'm thinking of buying it before that happens but is it worth it? Please let me know your thoughts and experience about this handbag if you have it. Thanks!

But they are classic LV to me! I love that it's not a monogram bag and it has an elegance to it that sets in apart from most LV items.
I'd probably look on the pre-loved market, they're like Lady Dior's, value depreciates quickly when on re-sale.

I had a capucines MM, I ended up selling it but I think it is a classic bag..

It doesn't have a magical story (and history) behind it as the Speedy or the Alma though. This model, as well as the new LockIt, was launched specifically to compete for the Birkin buying clientele. The LockIt failed miserably (although it was an extremely elegant and beautiful bag), the Capucines sticked. The most probable reason is that the latter has the huge logo on the front
Vuitton does everything in its power to push this model, everything. And they used that unlimited power quite wisely, I feel that this bag became accepted by the community, and it will be around for long. They might overproduce it (big time!), and push it a little too hard, but it is their flagship bag now. And a classic.

I personally wish their was a classic monogram Lockit tote for men. I actually love the silhouette.It is a classic already.

I love the capucines. I have 3…2 BBs and 1 MM. The style of the bag is what makes it a classic for me. And do I dare say that I love them just as much as my Hermes bags. The price is crazy to me now. Not sure I’d buy another because of that.

But I still wouldn't buy a Capucine. I would pool up my handbag allowances and go for another Birkin or Kelly. Or even mid-way towards one, I'd spend my money on a Chanel. Hahaha.
capucines is one of my most favorite LV bags & designer bags, still loves it *** years on
