Can you negotiate at cartier?

Flagship Cartier and Tiffany does negotiate, only on engagement rings. I've been with family members that have made their engagement ring purchases through both companies, however the negotiations usually happen only when the figure is above a certain $$$$$$ amount (note this was 5+ yrs ago). On their regular jewelry lines they do not discount and I've never heard/seen negotiations take place.

I personally have received discounts on timepieces at the Paris Place Vendôme flagship boutique when purchasing several at once. I also have received ”free” extras on other occasions, again on timepieces. I know anecdotally that they give considerations when buying high jewellery.
It is all very civilized and professional, but you have to ask.
