Can you be too young to wear pearls?

Pearls are fine at 19. I have a lot of friends that wore pearls at 19 and I see many girls that do it now. Usually it's pearl studs for ears, but I don't see why a bracelet can't be worn by a 19 year old. Oh, I even had a friend who had a pearl belt at 18.

I would definetly get the pearls in place of LV costume jewelry.

My question is...are pearls too young for a 19 year-old? I don't wear a lot of jewelry; just my promise ring every day and simple crystal studs on most days. I do work part time at a fine dining restaurant as a hostess/supervisor so I do dress up on weekends. What do you think of the bracelet? Do you think it would be too dressy to wear with jeans and a nice top?

I think the bracelet is appropriate for a 19 year old. My sister got me a similar one when I was that age.

But, what concerns me is that if you wash your hands a lot at work, pearls aren't a good option. You have to be really careful to not get any perfume, detergents, chemicals, etc on them. Vinegar, for instance, will actually melt the pearls. I love the bracelet, but it's something to consider IMO. I would be nervous wearing an expensive pearl bracelet to work at a restaurant...

Although I work at a restaurant, I seldom come in contact with any food or substances. The most I'd do is pour myself coffee in the kitchen ;):p I usually deal with paperwork and clients at the front only. Well, if necessary I run empty glasses to the back too, but I've had extensive "training" doing that for the first 2 years I worked there so no problems with that.

i turned 21 in april and my boyfriend suprised me with an iredesse tahitian pearly bracelet. i love that jewelry piece the best! its beautiful and i wear it every so often. it doesn't age me.

another tip. b4 wen we went to look for pearls i checked out tiffany and that pictures shows it beautifully but its a really oogly bracelet in my opinion. it looks like the fake ones and for the cost, sooo not worth it. i'd go to iridesse, they have lifetime warranty. my black pearls were a bit costly, but they have gorgeous freshwater pearls and terrific customer service. i've been there 3x's since my bday bc im careless =/ lol their website is iridesse.com

check it out and happy early anniversary!
