Calling for Tiffany DBTY owners!! Do you regret for not getting a bigger diamond?

i wish my 0.12 rose gold dbty was bigger, but it was the largest size that comes in rose gold. the 0.07 was way too small for me. Also tried on the 5-diamond rose gold dbty but those are even smaller, and it flips too easily.

i ended up getting a RTT beaded necklace to layer under the dbty. i had my dbty shortened to 15.5 cos i like my chains shorter. Funny thing is that both necklaces when worn, will flip to the same side together, you would think that it would be heavier since the RTT is silver and with a heart charm but it still flips.

Mine aren't Tiffany but i have 3: .08 wg, .08yg and .25wg. Love them all. I personally wouldn't want anything larger. That's the look: small but sparkly. None of mine flip and they are 18".

On the flipping, mine is Tiffany 0.25 on 16 inch chain, doesn't flip at all unless I pull back the necklace. So I think it's true, lighter weight stone may tend to flip more and to counter that, you may want to consider slightly bigger chain.

While mine never flips, it does move so sometimes it doesn't sit on the center.

Thank you for all the suggestions!

I had a really long day and feel tired these days....want to update my thread:smile1:. I exchanged my 0.08 ct DBTY to a 0.14 one... I know I'm crazy!!

But the effect is totally different!! Even for my petite figure, the 14 pointer one is so much cuter than the 8 pointer one. Not only is it more sparkly (of course...), it doesn't flip so much as my old one any more, which is really a big relief! I wear it 24/7 now~~Yay~

i had my 16" .25 DBTY extended by Tiffanys as it was twisting like crazy and SA suggested its not long enough for me...so 2 weeks later and $$ paid for extending it - its all the same!!! is there anyone out there with a solution? i luv it to bits... but i hate it twisting to the back ending with a clasp on the front.. do i need a LARGER diamond?? or is there a cheaper solution out there? :-)

Hello ladies,
I need your help to decide weather I should keep my DBTY YG 0.08 or exchange it for 0.12. I got my 0.08 a few days ago while I love it but I keep on wondering how 0.12 would look on me. When I went to Tiffany, the 0.12 was out of stock (so I cant compare it) and I would need to wait a few days to get it, I don't have the patience to wait so I just got the 0.08, however now I couldn't stop thinking about 0.12. Here are my questions:

1. Do you think 0.12 is appropriate for everyday use (will it be too in your face)?

2. How much difference is the size of 0.08 compared to 0.12?

I would appreciate it if someone could post pictures for 0.12.

Thank you for reading my post.

I dont have a picture of 0.12 but if you're thinking of upgrading you should do it before your return period expires. and no I dont think .12 is too in your face it will be still dainty :D

Dear Candice0985,
Thank you for your reply. Yes I think if I were to upgrade I will have to do it soon.
Decision...decision hmm... :)

My apologies if this is slightly off topic, but is it true that the diamonds in the Tiffany dbty necklaces look bigger, or is it just me? Cos i've been looking at all the modelling shots and the diamonds all seem to look bigger than their actual carat weight. E.g, looking at the photos, i wouldn't think that some of them are only .08 or .14. They look much bigger. (That's definitely a plus point if it is true.)

It's true. The diamonds are cut so that they are shorter with a wider table, but they definitely do not lose any sparkle.

My very first DBTY was a .12ct in Yellow Gold and it was the PERFECT size, even while I was pregnant. I don't think there would be much difference between an 8 point and a 12 point, correct? DBTY are very sparkly, and tiny differences in size don't make a huge impact, in my opinion.

I'm sure you'll love the one you have now! If it's too small for your liking, consider it a "starter" piece and a "layering" piece in the future. But since you're petite, maybe it will be perfect for you? Either way... you really can't go wrong with a Tiffany DBTY. They're stunning!
