i had the khaki/chambray and returned it for the black sig. and that's going back, too...the black sig is boring and i can't STAND that it slips on my shoulder.

mine only tends to slip a little when i wear my puffer jacket...anything else and its fine. try it on with different outfits, maybe its the clothes/material

I have the the Carly in the large black leather, and I love it!!!!!!! I have no problems with it staying on my shoulder at all, even when it is packed full!! The only problem I do have with it is that is is HEAVY as hell, even when I don't have a lot of stuff in it!! But, I am willing to to deal with the back pain to carry such a gorgeous purse!!

I have the large signature Carly's in black and khaki/saddle. I've had the same problem with it not wanting to stay on my shoulder when it's packed full, but I still love it. I think it's an awesome style. :)

I agree with everyone else though, don't alter the bag. That's an awful lot of money to spent on something you don't even like as it is. And if you don't like it once it's gone, or if that doesn't solve the slipping problem, then you're screwed.

I just got my Carly in khaki/saddle late this week and took it out today shopping. Honestly, I have tons of problems keeping bags on my shoulders unless I have a jacket on or a shirt w/a small shoulder pad because my shoulders slope. I look like a hanger! LOL

Carly is the first bag that actually STAYED on my shoulder w/out sliding down! :yahoo: :wlae: Because of this miracle, I'm thinking of ordering a couple more in other colors/fabrics! :jammin:

After I got my Carly home and took the stuffing out of it I didn't have any trouble getting it to stay on my shoulder. If the bag is packed full I can't get it to stay up though.
I would NOT cut the handle. First of all, I think the handle really makes the bag. Second of all, that is too much to spend on a bag you have to alter when you get it home.

perfectly stated - the handle does make the bag! That's why I purchased it! (but of course, I ordered the tip top because I don't need anyother larger bag, and they got the picture wrong on the website, but I still like it!)

glad that you found a bag that works out for you...you should get the whole line and have a nice happy Carly Family!!!!

all the hardware makes it heavy but i agree with holly di, its worth the back pain!!!!

For a day its ok, but in the long term no bag is worth it. Ladies, be careful! Carrying a great bag is a wonderful feeling, but these heavy ones can do some real damage on down the road. I love my Carly but I don't carry her more than a few days in a row and I try to switch sides throughout the day. Handbags are extra weight at an awkward place for the body, if it hurts after a short time there is a problem. Ok Ok, sorry to get preachey just wanna save someone else some dr bills (hey, that money can go towards more bags!)

redice, just noticed your ticker! Congratulations! I hope you reward yourself with something good! And thanks for the advice on heavy bags. I've cut down on what I carry myself. Don't want to mess up my back so I can't carry my bags any longer!
