Did the other seller give you the IDs of his "friends" for blocking?

Oh, and regarding the other seller's suggestion of "Did he left feedback to you? If you leave the same feedback like me or something like that eBay is gonna close his account," do NOT leave a false positive!! It's your account that will be dinged should ebay notice it.

Oops, never mind. I hadn't checked to see that you'd already left a negative positive feedback.

This guy sounds experienced enough that he very well might call ebay on both you and the other seller to report the feedback abuse. (I do understand and sympathize with you. I understand why you left a negative comment and I think you got a buyer from hell!) But I also am advising that this feedback can get YOU into trouble.

Wow! What a nightmare! I'm glad ebay closed the case in your favor. I guess you'll find out if ebay refunded him as well when and if he opens a credit card claim.
Yeah, I'll just have to wait and see!

Congratulations on your victory and your willingness and stamina to stand up to this guy.

BTW, is your buyer's name "*****?"
You know what... I'm wondering the same thing now! Hah!

^ Ooh, I just sent him a message asking if he'd be willing to share the other username! I'll post it here once he replies :)

^ Ooh, that's good to know! What exactly does being "dinged" do to eBay accounts entail? Is it sort of like they keep a record of it and it might work against you if for whatever reason a case gets opened? I kind of want to keep it there to help warn other sellers since he isn't suspended yet. Hmm. I suppose if I remove the FB at least they will still have a history of 'report a buyer' tracked. Although I'm not sure I can reverse it? Either way I'm glad you brought it up, maybe it can help someone else in the future who might read this thread!

Ebay removed the ability for sellers to leave any non-positive feedback and as such, they don't allow contradictory feedback so sellers who leave it are violating the feedback policy.

Ebay doesn't disclose how many such violations are allowed before a member is suspended so it's impossible to say if and when there'll be consequences.

But another more important reason why I'm against leaving any feedback for any transaction that isn't smooth is that you're only serving to build that buyer's feedback score. Most people don't read through comments of positive feedback; they only look to see that they're positive and assume it's a trustworthy person.

OP, I'm so glad that you won the eBay case. Now I hope you can win the chargeback case, if he files. Also, I was skimming, so I don't know if you already said... Did you get the item back from FedEx already? I would hate for him to still have the ability to pick it up at FedEx or have them deliver it.

OP I'm full of admiration for the way you handled this, I'm delighted you won the case and only surprised it look eBay as long as 30 minutes to decide in your favour!!

Hi all,

Yes, unfortunately the package did ultimately bounce back to me.

He opened another case on eBay (this time it was an item not received case) and made more threats with chargebacks.

Same thing, offered a partial refund etc. He gave snarky responses instead of coming up with a resolution, etcetc. So when his chargeback finally began officially, I ended up having 2 ongoing cases. had to call into eBay myself to get one of them closed. I thought this would be automatic on eBay and Paypal's behalf but I guess not!

Long story short, he won. :( So he got his full refund and I was slapped with a $20 chargeback fee from paypal + $101.50 final value fees from eBay.

Paypal ultimately refunded me the $20.00 chargeback fee, but I had to ask for it. They didn't give me a lot of trouble for it at all. I just stated my case again in 1 email and they offered the refund immediately.

eBay also refunded the $101.50 final value fees, but I had to ask for that back too! This part actually took a while because they had to transfer me to so many different departments and supervisors since it was a high value case. They did not give me trouble about it either. They were very pleasant, it just took them half an hour on the phone because each rep kept transferring me. I was surprised this wasn't automatic!!! :confused1: If this ever happens to you, make sure you call in and ask for your fees back!!! I almost forgot about it because I have sold so many items over these past 3 months and I set up automatic payments for my eBay fees!

The buyer actually also sent me another nasty message after he won his chargeback!

He had been blocked but he's still able to message me! Ugh. I messaged back telling him to never message me again and he has not done it since. Hopefully it is finally over now.

Anyway, bottom line: I was able to win the eBay case but unsuccessful with negotiating partial refunds in the chargeback case. Also, eBay was going to keep my $101.50 final value fees and Paypal was going to charge me that additional $20 if I didn't speak up! :/ Make sure you fight for yourself if you find yourself in such a situation! Email them! Call them!

I don't know if any of this was worth it but I ended up with no monetary losses... although I did waste a TON of time and it was a huge headache.

It could be worse! At least I got my item back!
