Butterfly MOP BTF ring or Frivole Pave BTF ring?

How about pave butterfly? So wearable on a daily basis. Less dramatic than the frivole but still a lot of bling. Great for dress up too. I wont do MOP as a ring. Too much to worry about.

I feel butterfly is truly more wearable(Picture below in a relax outfit)

But eventually u will get both. They are different but must haves haha

I debated about these two rings for a long time as well. I ultimately decided on the pave frivole ring. I wanted more of a statement ring and this is it for me.

I absolutely love it, but don’t feel it’s a daily ring for me. It’s a larger ring and very eye catching, so I don’t find it under the radar. I wear it a lot, but couldn’t see myself wearing it daily.

I think the butterfly is so pretty and since it’s smaller can easily be worn as daily ring. I wouldn’t call it dainty but I don’t think it’s as blingy as the frivole so can be worn under the radar as well.

You can’t go wrong with either, and like many people on this forum, butterfly is next on my wishlist. Good luck and have fun with the process xx

While you are at the boutique, kill two birds with one stone…
Ask your SA to bring in some Frivole pave earrings too!

I love them, and they are so beautiful on the ear. Blingy, but not too much for everyday. The Frivole flower just blooms on the ear.

Try them to see if you might like them. I think the Frivole earrings will go nicely with either the Butterfly or Frivole BTF ring. Kind of a Flora & Fauna theme if you choose the Frivole BTF ring.

If you worry that the big frivole pave is too much for daily use. There is also a smaller version u can consider with matching earring. Also very wearable even with daily outfit. However might not be too much of a statement piece for formal outfit. It could work though.

I match these the sweet line. Works perfectly together too.

I vote butterfly! But i am a butterfly girl. The butterflies are a bit flatter than the frivole, which makes it less dramatic (which at least for me is better for everyday).
Do note though that the MOP will not be something you should get wet. make sure to look at @eternallove4bag 's MOP ring, she has many photos of it on this forum! It is stunning! She might be able to give you a better idea of wearability/durability.
The diamond/sapphire versions will definitely be more resistant just by virtue them being harder stones.

Also, if you're looking for little flowers, don't forget the socrate (or even the 4 flower lotus, but I prefer socrate). As this has no polished finishes (unlike the small frivole ring), it will be more resistant to scratches/looking dull if worn a lot.

What a nice little dilemma to have! I don't own either one but I tried on both prior to ordering my mirrored finish frivole BTF ring. I will share my thoughts on both...with the butterfly ring, I feel that it is quite a difficult ring to pull off, maybe because of the gap between the motifs and so, it doesn't seem to "sit right" on the finger. I feel that the butterfly BTF ring needs long fingers to pull of its elegant look. I know there are some beautiful shots of the ring in this forum. The frivole ring IMO, is more "forgiving" on the fingers. Because there is no gap between the motifs, I feel it provides a more cohesive look to the ring and looks good on all shapes of fingers. It looked so beautiful on the finger when I tried it on, I couldn't keep my eyes off it! I also think it is a very versatile ring-the right amount of bling for a special(formal) occasion ring and still wearable for a daytime look. Yes, it is blingy but if your work environment is not too conservative, I feel the frivole pave will still fit in. Both rings are beautiful and you can't go wrong with either one. I suspect you will get both eventually and if so, perhaps get the more expensive one first (given the crazy price increases!)? Can't wait to see what you decide!

Just like the sweet Perlee clover, I’d like to wear it all day for all occasions I agree with you, and I have been thinking that too, to get the more expensive item first, since you never know when the next price increase will be and I’m likely at this point to get both. This is part of the reason I’m in this dilemma! My heart was saying first butterfly BTF ring with summer around the corner and it’s a lighter and “cuter” design for summertime, and then later frivole BTF ring, as it would be great as the weather cools down (this may be odd logic! ). But frivole is the more expensive one! Will definitely try them both on again and for sure will keep this forum updated!

(especially with the matching earrings). I would want to stay with either gold or rose gold coloring to match the rest of my VCA collection, wish they came out with two butterfly pave in rose gold!! I agree with you though, they are both unique and offer very different designs that I think ultimately I will want both. So now it’s a question of which one first

It’s a tough decision to make as they are both so unique in their own way, and both are very beautiful. I’ve been loving my VCA jewelry collection because I’ve managed to select things that are wearable for me daily (I’m fairly casual for the most part) and my first pick would be the one that can be worn with most outfits. Great idea, and will do! I have read on this forum that the pave frivole earrings are wonderful and great for everyday use, but have never tried them on. (Although I have the YG small frivole earrings that are gorgeous). I totally agree, the frivole flower design is just incredibly beautiful

I already have a vintage mop ring that I wear quite frequently and have not had issues with it yet, because I always take it off before washing my hands or doing anything where it will be likely to get dirty. But yes, it would be great to know if @eternallove4bag has any thoughts on its durability! I appreciate your thoughts!

I am a butterfly lover like you @kelsenia I find them elegant, whimsical and beautiful! I also like the Socrates ring so definitely something to consider @NK321

@NK321 it has been almost two years since I got my white mop/pave butterfly ring and it’s one of my most worn rings (you only have to look at the gazillion pics I post of it on TPF wearing it). Despite its constant use, it looks brand new. I am careful with my jewelry but not overly so. I am careful not to bang the ring against hard objects but I can’t lie that I haven’t washed my hands a few times while wearing the ring! Oopsie! But, happy to report nothing bad happened to it. I think it’s the polished coating on it unlike other mop pieces that gives it a protective layer.
I was in your position two years back wondering which one to add - Frivole pave or the butterfly ring. I was determined to buy only one but like they say, man proposes and god disposes .. I bought the Frivole pave BTF ring first and couldn’t stop thinking about the butterfly ones so had to grab those too. At least I went to ban island sporting my ultimate BTF rings in each hand! Lol!

I obviously love and wear BOTH rings. All I can say is it’s a matter of which one you want to get first because no matter which you get first, you will always want the other one too!

Ah! Make sense if you are sticking with the rose gold. I wash my hands all the time, I cant do MOP haha

But if you dont mind taking it on and off. It is beautiful indeed in MOP. I will do it in earring or pendant any day.

So if you have a lot of events and occasion you can use the frivole, i will vote for frivole. It is a very unique statement piece. You can wear it on a regular day too if you dress up just a little bit to match it.

If i were you, i will get the frivole first to get the wow effect and it can be used for some important occasions. Butterfly you can always get later. But i am sure you will end up with both haha

It’s hard but I love the MOP butterfly ring. Maybe because @eternallove4bag has brainwashed me with her gorgeous pics but that MOP butterfly has my heart. It’s sits lower than the Frivole, is very unique and the view changes based on the angle that you view it from. The curved shape of the MOP makes it glow and seem alive. And the unique and whimsical feel of the butterfly is more unexpected, though still has a casual vibe. Can’t wait to see what you pick.
