I had planned to buy the butterfly mop BTF ring, and had actually already put a hold on one in my size, to pick up in a couple of weeks. However now I’m getting “cold feet” and debating whether I should get the frivole pave BTF ring instead? I do plan to wear this ring on a close-to-daily type basis (ie not just special occasions) and I’m not certain if the pave version is too much for such use, or if it’s more of a special occasion piece? Any thought would be helpful!

Hi! Frivole pave BTF ring for sure. I have it in WG, and it is definitely not too blingy for everyday. I wear my ring with striped tees and shorts. I also wear my Lotus ring with shorts, so no... these rings are not too blingy for everyday.

I also bought the yellow sapphire Butterfly BTF ring. I bought it because I love BTF rings, but I hesitated for months. The butterfly ring looks a bit dainty and cutesy to me, so it is not and never will be a "favorite" ring of mine.

The design of the Frivole is beyond gorgeous; heart-shaped petals blooming. There are no other rings with that beautiful design, but there are tons of butterfly rings.

Another way to help you decide is to use two words to describe each ring. For me...
Butterfly - Cute, Sweet
Frivole - Beautiful, Artistic

I vote Frivole pave for sure! It's my favorite of all VCA BTF rings. I truly love love love it! It can be fun as well dressy.
Hope this helps. Good luck to you!

Agree with all of these points and I love @BigAkoya ’s taste and discernment. And, I’m not a butterfly person. (Full disclosure though: my favorite VCA line is the buton d’or, and if I had to pick a ring, it might be the lotus, as harder edged, not as conventionally pretty, with more metal. But, I haven’t bought the lotus bc this decade of my life I seem to prefer YG and don’t wear as much pave or all diamond pieces)

But, one of our members @TankerToad has an amazing butterfly here. It’s phenomenal on her, and when I first saw it I remember thinking wow, it’s amazing  scroll down to post 1165

Thank you so much for your advice! I so appreciate it  I would like to go for a classic look especially if worn almost everyday, so I think the frivole BTF ring might be best. I’m glad to hear that you can wear yours dressed up but also more casually. It’s important to me to be able to wear it for all occasions. Such a hard decision to make!! I appreciate too your photos, they are both really beautiful on you  and also helpful to see the two right next to each other. Frivole definitely looks larger with more presence. I will likely go in to try to compare the two in person as I’ve only tried them on separately, and see how my heart feels! Thank you again, and will keep this group updated!

Thank you for pointing this out! So helpful to see, the lapis butterfly BTF ring is so gorgeous!! I’m drawn to the mop version because of the neutral colors I tend to wear but there is something so artistic and sweet about the butterfly BTF ring, and it feels so quintessentially VCA. Buton d’or is stunning too, will have to live vicariously through others here to enjoy that one! <3

Both are beautiful and can be worn daily. Both are unique designs too. I don’t have either but I have the noeud and lotus rings which are both blingy and big like the frivoles. I wear both a lot and get a lot of comments about my rings. I actually find rings attract more attention then other jewellery. If you are concerned about wearability I think the butterfly is more wearable and will attract less attention (in a good way).

Thank you so much and that is helpful feedback! I love rings for the reason that they are so lovely to look at for myself throughout the day. Glad to know you can wear your beautiful rings all the time. I wouldn’t want to draw attention to it, and would like something that can be worn a little below the radar as I do plan to wear it all the time basically!

What a nice little dilemma to have! I don't own either one but I tried on both prior to ordering my mirrored finish frivole BTF ring. I will share my thoughts on both...with the butterfly ring, I feel that it is quite a difficult ring to pull off, maybe because of the gap between the motifs and so, it doesn't seem to "sit right" on the finger. I feel that the butterfly BTF ring needs long fingers to pull of its elegant look. I know there are some beautiful shots of the ring in this forum. The frivole ring IMO, is more "forgiving" on the fingers. Because there is no gap between the motifs, I feel it provides a more cohesive look to the ring and looks good on all shapes of fingers. It looked so beautiful on the finger when I tried it on, I couldn't keep my eyes off it! I also think it is a very versatile ring-the right amount of bling for a special(formal) occasion ring and still wearable for a daytime look. Yes, it is blingy but if your work environment is not too conservative, I feel the frivole pave will still fit in. Both rings are beautiful and you can't go wrong with either one. I suspect you will get both eventually  and if so, perhaps get the more expensive one first (given the crazy price increases!)? Can't wait to see what you decide!
