I've been wanting Burberry rain boots for years, but there was no point in getting them since I live out in LA. But I'm making a big move out to Boston in a month & a half thanks to a new job & to finish my schooling, so I thought Burberry Rain Boots would be a great "congrats to myself" present.

But I'm kind of hesitant. Are they really worth it? And are their rain boots true to size since I'll have to order them because a lot of my local stores are currently out. Exactly how comfortable are they? & do they last?

Or should I just get a different pair of water resilent shoes? I know North Face makes a few, but they're just not too attractive in my opinion.. There's also Hunter, & Tretorn I think? All I know is, I need something & I want to buy it asap!

Thanks for your help :)

I live in mid TX and it hasn't stop me from purchasing two pairs of rain boots :p i pair it w/leggings in fall/winter, but of course at any raining day too  Because of the material, it's been holding up really well, and super easy to care for!

just a thought, but . . . you're moving to boston . . . they have two burberry stores there where they probably stock the rain boots year round! why buy them in LA and then lug them across the country?? just buy them once you get to the east coast, that way you can try them on! (^(oo)^)

re: your other question, I don't have the rain boots, but I've always been very pleased with the Burberry rain apparel & accessories I've purchased. (^(oo)^)v

I'd lean towards the North Face waterproof shoes simply because they'd work great in the rain and in the snow/ice in Boston (a good 4+ months at times). Definitely get one or the other because you will need them ... I'd personally go for the North Face.

I have Hunters and I love them! When it's winter, I slip in the additional fleece liners that Hunter also sells. They keep my feet nice and toasty, and since the Hunters are all rubber, I don't slip in the snow/ice. Since I got black, they are very versatile- which I think is an advantage over the Burberrys.

I debated between Burberry rainboots and Hunter ones for the longest time. After trying both on, I decided on Burberry because I fell for the print. Hunters were also a bit tall on me and it felt heavier when walking around. I had to go up a size in Burberry though; normally a US 6, bought them in 37.

I almost bought a pair of Hunters but I found a black pair of Burberrys - they are warm and comfortable, and keep you dry, but I recommend trying them on or buy 1/2 a size down as they run a bit large... I plan on keeping these for awhile and then buying a "fun" color from Hunter in the next year or so.

The ones I want are currently on sale at Nordstrom's so I thought I would take advantage of a good deal! :p

Thanks! I just haven't been able to find a pair of North Face shoes that are somewhat attractive. They look too manly!

I'm planning to get a simple pair of Burberrys. It's not the usual checked print, so I think it'll be versatile, but thanks for the feedback on Hunters. I've seen the fleece liners & they do look nice!

This is totally unrelated but the first thing that popped into my head was to check out the Marc by Marc Jacobs store. They have cute rubber rainboots that are only $28.
I love MBMJ! Unfortunately I didn't really like the design for their rainboots.

I completely agree! I picked up the Hunters & they were definitely more heavier. Thanks for the tip on the sizing!

I think they are worth the $. I bought my second pair today from the nordies sale. I opted for 1 size up to allow room for thicker socks in colder weather.
Which ones did you get?! I'm about to go to Nordies right now to ask my SA to order mine for me!

Thanks for all the feedback. You guys rock! :yahoo:

I have two pairs of Hunter rainboots and I wouldn't want any other kind. I have light gray for fall and spring and dark green for winter with the matching fleece liners. I wore them in the snow many times last year and my feet stayed dry and warm. They are really durable.

well, i live in a place that is cold/rainy/snowy for about 7 months a year, so i have a pair of each the burberry and hunter.

my first love were the burberrys. they're extremely stylish, but i had only had them for a year before i started experiencing problems with them. it's not like i wore the heck out of them or anything, only when it was raining. i'm not sure if i am the only one whose experienced this, but the sole of my shoe started separating from the upper  i never question burberrys quality really and i think i might have just gotten a faulty pair, but i was disappointed still. luckily, i was able to get them replaced!

then, after that little problem, i bought a pair of hunters. in comparison to the burberrys, i find them more comfortable! i have them in the short and the huntress style and i am a little obsessed with them, i must say. i love that they have those socks you can slip in to make them warmer, which is something you're going to need when you're in boston! haha.

i think either way, you'll be good with burberry, hunter, or north face! :D

otherwise, congrats on your new job!
