Bucket Bags?

The bucket bag is useful if I'm carrying larger items like magazines, museum guides, things that can be "filed" upright in the bag. Flat purse organizers can work. Forget about small items in a bucket, they end up crushed at the bottom.

I just got a new bag that is the closest to a bucket bag I've ever had. I usually use east-west types with zippers. This is deeper with a snap closure and is actually (surprisingly to me) more functional for me. It's not too deep, I can see everything as soon as I open it and easily reach for my things. Now I may go the next step and get a real bucket bag, as soon as I fall out of love with this one.

In Trenton Lee Stewart's book, The Mysterious Benedict Society, a female character carries actual bucket.
Her name is Kate. She wants to be called, "The Great Kate Weather Machine." But no one will go along with this.
