I like to look at Blue Nile's "recently bought" engagement rings section for fun to see who's buying what, what styles are popular, etc. Often times, the e-rings I see are very modest in size and it makes me smile seeing all the beautiful e-rings men across the globe are buying for their soon-to-be blushing fiances.

However, despite the 2+ carats here or there, the majority of rings I see are 1 carat or below, and now and then, there are those crazy big diamonds where the prices are "undisclosed." So today, as I was scrolling down the page, my eyes got a huge shock when it went from a point eighter to a 7.08 radiant cut solitaire e-ring!!

And my eyes got like this: :wtf: Holy shiznits, that is ridiculously big! What do ya'll think? Just right or too huge??

i am not a huge fan of radiants but that is stunning and the setting is just pure simplicity. WOW. I dont agree that it is too big. I have seen 2 carats wrapped in so much micropave they are blinding.......and overdone. to my eye this is very tasteful

When it comes to diamond, IMO, the bigger the better. One thing I would change about it is the solitare. I don't like solitary rings so some side stones and pave diamonds around the band = perfect.

Kohl, what are you up to????!!!!!

I do the same thing! I always wonder who these people are and it makes me happy!

I love big simple solitaires (but I think round cuts can be too big). A stone that size does not need any noise around it!

Ditto. I love how simple it is. I think a big rock is never too big, providing its set simply. This is lovely, although if I was looking at 7 carats, I'd go with an Ascher cut.

WHOA. Honestly? I think it's gauche. I'd rather have a few beautiful pieces than wear that. Most people I know would think it was fake anyway!
