Yay! They said it would be about a week till it was finished, but I have it in my possession exactly 7 days after I ordered!
Some of you might know I was torn on size, metal color, and where to order. Well I went with BGD over Tiffany's because I knew I would never regret white gold (I was afraid to do Tiffany's YG and I don't like Plat). And I prefer BGD bezels and "ear" placement over Bluenile's. Plus I felt with BGD I would have a diamond everybit as nice as the Tiffany's ones since BG cuts all his diamond melee to ideal specs. There are definite arrows in this baby.
So here it is .16 H VS white gold 16"

In this next picture it looks like the top of the diamond and the bezel are "rough" or "uneven" it's just a reflection off the black book it's sitting on.

Also, I noticed while looking at other photos that in close-up's these solitaires look like a little animal (mouse?) with a head and ears. I will tell you this is MUCH less noticeable in real life (or in "real size").
I hope this helps some of you who were trying to decide on a DBTY too.
BTW, having seen both BGD and Tiffany's IRL, I'd say they are pretty much identical as far as bezel and chain goes.
I still think Tiffany's yellow gold DBTY are the prettiest ever (because their YG is so beautiful and the contrast with the diamond is just divine) , I just don't wear any YG, and DH doesn't like YG, so this was the next best thing and I am VERY pleased.

It's TDF.....I NEED one too......I love it, Good choice :)

Ok, so BGD called me again last night. Now they say they ordered another .16 stone and it was the same size. They offered a refund. I wish this wasn't on page four of this thread because people should know that apparently a BGD 0.16 DBTY is smaller than a Tiffany's 0.12. I don't know how, BGD doesn't know how, but it just is. I do want to add that BGD was wonderful to work with. I wouldn't hesitate to do business with them again in the future. They did the best they could to check into the situation for me. My 0.16 stone was 3.5mm and if you look up diamond sizes online, that is the correct size for a 0.16. I really don't understand why Tiffany's look so much larger.
So I guess I'm going to try a Bluenile one next. Why not..lol. At least I'll be a person on here who has seen all three IRL. There is no doubt the price on the Blue nile is far better than the other two options. I also like that I am getting to pick my own stone. I'm being super picky about the cut. Although I seem to be at a standstill regarding getting a J VS1 or a H SI1. either way I'll be getting close to a .30ct in the $600-$700 range. And I'm happy I can still get white gold. I'm still not sure about the "ear" placement on the BlueNile one, but wort case maybe a jeweler can move it for me.
Decisions aren't my strong suite, so I don't know how long it will take me to actually pick a diamond, but when I do, and I get the blue nile necklace, I'll be sure to update. :-)

WEIRD about how the .16 BGD looks SMALLER than a .12 Tiffany!!!! That astounds me. The Tiffany diamonds must be flatter somehow. . .
Anyway, I've actually been pricing and building my own BN pendant but haven't pulled the trigger yet! I can't wait to see what you get!

Did you get your refund yet? Which stone did you pick? I had my pick, Im dying to hear what you ended up with as the final one :)
I read online this morning that they issue all refunds by check. BOO!!
I found more stones this morning. There are two .30ct J VS1's for about $80 less with the fluorescence I'd like. I'm thinking that is they way I should go, but I'm not 100% sure about the J. I decided after we talked last night that I'd rather stay closer to original budget than get that H Vs stone which was the highest price one. I think I narrowed it down to a .28 H SI1 or a .30 J VS1. Ugg.
Your favorite was still that AGS .33 I Vs1 isn't it?

yes of all the options we had looked at. But for a necklace I'd probably go I-J color VS1-2 because it's not worth paying for a higher color I don't think. I don't know that I'd need an H for a necklace.

skphotoimages, are you planning to order from BGD and Bluenile? I just ordered a set of diamond studs from Bluenile. Can't wait to see how they come out. Was going to order a DBTY style pendant from Bluenile, but after reading some comments about the chain not being as nice, I decided to try BGD.

Do you think BGD chain is comparable to Tiffany's or close to it?

I have never ordered jewelry from online shop, so this will be an interesting experience.

Do keep us posted on your new BGD order :D

I returned the BGD one and just purchased a Bluenile one. It should arrive Thursday. I'm excited to see it and give everyone a comparison of all three.

The BGD chain was exactly the same as Tiffany's. The tags by the clasp were a little heavier and nicer on the Tiffany's. The spring clasp was close if not the same on both. Really there was VERY little differences anywhere between BGD and Tiffany's, except the diamond. I can tell you, while there is no good explanation that BGD 0.16 was smaller than Tiffany's 0.12...I checked it against 3 different Tiffany's necklaces. So if you like the 0.14 at Tiffany's, don't expect a BGD 0.14 to be anywhere close..it's not.

I know people complain about the Blue Nile chain, and I have not seen it in person, but even the BGD and Tiffany's ones are super delicate. I'm wondering if there will even be a difference. We shall see.

I liked that with Blue Nile I had complete control over the diamond choice. All the diamonds are certified so I was able to see pavillion and crown angles, and figure in table and depth percentages as well as color and clarity and pick what I thought was the best diamond. I ended up with a 0.32 H VS2 for only $100 more than I had spent at BGD for the 0.16. I could have stayed at the same price with an I SI1 or a J VS2, but I wanted a really white clean stone that I would feel great about handing down to my daughters. I realize it might be overkill for a pendant, but it was just personal choice.

I'll be sure to update :-)

I know this thread is super old but was hoping someone could tell me if brian gavin still sells these? I tried looking online but can only see the option of buying the stone and setting separately and the only see diamonds larger than 0.2 on the site. I really like how dainty this is.
