Brand New vs. 2nd hand...?

I'm personally too nervous that something not bought through a boutique or eLux is going to be fake. Plus a brand new speedy is not that much more than the 2nd hand price you quoted. Go for the new one.

heheheh forgive me... been posting a lot of polls lately but i always think one can never be too careful when it coms to BAGS...

So thanks to the help from y'all... i've decided (i think) on the Monogram Speedy 25, since my collection needs a bit of LV..!! (got Blueberry Balenciaga day, Coach Swingpack etc etc).

Anyways, should i get a 2nd hand but almost new(carried a few times) speedy for around $475-$495 mark or should i spring for a brand new one since it's my first...? i live in vancouver BC... taxes here are 15%

Me personally I think if you get a 2nd hand get it in pristine condition or heck just go ahead and go all out.My first 25 was a 2nd but the handles were a honey patina.I just wanted something I wouldn't be on eggshells carrying cause I carry my MC 30 every 4-6 months it seems just because the handles are sooooo light.

Anyway all in all you made a great choice for such a great functional bag.

I would get a brand new speedy! There is nothing like watching the patina develop and knowing that it is all yours!

For that price difference, I vote brand-new, so new that the plastic is still on the handles .

I would get the 2nd hand one, as long as you know 100% of authenticity. Then you can wear it, use and love it to death without worrying about it. You would still save a couple hundred dollards, which you could put towards a new accessory!

As long as you are sure it is 100% real. I say save the money and buy it 2nd hand. I am actually waiting for two 2nd hand LV's right now that I just bought. About 1/2 my bags are 2nd hand. It does not bother me. I like saving the money and be able to buy more bags.

nothing wrong w/ 2nd hand bags. you just need to shop around for one that's in great condition and esp on its authenticity. but if it's your first bag and you can afford to spring for it....get one from the store so it will always be memorable as your 1st!

First LV...Congrats? Welcome to the darkside LoL! Since it's your first once, I definitely think you should go to the boutique. The experience is well worth it.
