Such a beauty!
Whoops just saw you posted this after I posted my mega reply before. Easy answer on the pink first. Then to the mind splitting conundrums of the white and black bags.
Pink: Yes the Fendi came in. (I posted a photo in post #4418 in this thread) It was a definite not-right-for-me settle. Unless something else comes out that steals my heart, I want either the Lady Dior or Chanel Classic Flap for my pink.
White / off white : I have looked at exotics and move them. But I want to wear this bag quite a lot in the spring / summer months so I don't think an exotic is the right answer for this particular bag. I'd like to have this by May but I'm willing to be patient.
Black: sigh. This is hard because these bags will be used a great deal and I MUST love them. I just won't settle for "like". See my comments above on black bags so I don't take up space and irritate folk here. Bottom line. I need a Lux black shoulder bag and lux black crossbody w/shw. Right now I think it's a black caviar Chanel and a black Givenchy Antigona. But since I'm not certain, I'm hoping the advice and counsel of my purse peeps will help guide me.
Between the flap and Antigona, I assume you will use the flap as your crossbody. To my knowledge Antigona strap is only shoulder length. In flaps, it would need to be the jumbo which fits a good amount and has a strap long enough to crossbody. For me, I am almost 5'5, crossbody is too long. It hits too low and the size and structure in caviar doesn't lend itself to be worn that way on me. A med flap would be perfect but the straps are too short ☹. I recall you mentioning you are taller and often wear heels so that might work for you. I just wanted to mention it in case you are not aware.
Regarding the black bag dilemma, a caviar for regular use and a lambskin for occasional use would work. I heard the older flaps have sturdier lambskin but it would probably take time to find something in a condition acceptable to you. I agree the lamb is much more luxe. It is my favorite Chanel skin. But I also take pause using my lamb pieces so I am not sure if I should buy anything else in this skin. It would have to knock my socks off for me to pull out my credit card these days.
Thank you Sparkle..[emoji8].I'm finding it hard to articulate my goals... Maybe I need to think about it more... I would like to use more of my bags although I have been getting better at that recently...I still have some I have never carried and I need to decide if I'm ok with that - the ones I haven't carried are LEs- do I want to be a ' collector ' and have some pieces I don't use? Or is it ridiculous to have expensive bags sitting on a shelf? I do love and admire them..[emoji178]
As I said before I also need to do a stock take... Pull everything out and get my head around what I have so I don't buy stuff I don't need... And can make decisions about what to keep and what to get rid of... And then work out my wish list..
So I have a lot to think about!
I would love to hear others views especially on the using vs collecting dilemma!
I am guilty of having a couple of art pieces in my collection[emoji4] I will be of no help.
I think it's great you are thinking about this. When I first started looking at my bags I just stated buying and selling with no real plan - big mistake.
My 2 cents on collecting v using. I don't "collect" anything that I don't use. I use my good china, my good jewelry, my furs, my whatever. I figure I have one life and every day should be the best I can make it. This likely comes from having a mom who always saved her nice things and never used them. It was / is sad seeing her plan for a day that never comes.
So, if I have a bag that isn't being used, it can be a sign I need to add something to my life. I was drawn to the xyz bag so there is likely a reason. So if it's for going out and I'm not going out, I need more date nights with DH or girl nights with my buds. If it's "too stylish", I need to upgrade my wardrobe to catch up.
This is easier said than done but since I've started "forcing" myself to live the live I want, I'm happier. [emoji4] If the bag isn't an inspiration then it needs to go. Even if I love it. Ugh! [emoji37]As my purse peeps have helped me see, those are dollars that can go towards a bag that does make my soul sing.
So that's my answer. Yours may be completely different. Whatever it is, we're here to cheer you on!
Love your thought process. I need to take a page from your style book. [emoji5]️
