So over Bradley Cooper. He’s so meh. Equally over seeing his mom as his date year after year. Clearly Kimmel agrees
Same here. Don’t see the appeal at all. I don’t even find him fuc$able.
OTOH, I appreciate him being upfront about wanting that Oscar.
Ok so this might be too obscurely British to ever work but if he ever really wants to earn that Oscar then I feel like there is an insane epic psychodrama/black comedy just waiting to be made about the making of the Carry On films and he would be an absolute cert if he got some heavy ‘ugly’ make up on and went full on type A uptight closet case to play Kenneth Williams barely holding himself together in the alcohol-fuelled insanity around him.
The hangover II and III totally turned me off from the actor.
Is he well liked among his peers?

The Hangover is the only thing he’s good in (imo) lol the other roles are all too **pick me for an Oscar** for my liking

I personally don’t mind him. I find him way less annoying than Benedict cumberbatch (but this may be because I still feel personally victimised by Sherlock)
and Eddie Redmayne who is probably my own pick for most annoying desperate for an Oscar wannabe yet actually bad at acting boy (and he’s freaking got one!!!) He even did 2 annoying wet biopics one after another to seal the deal

Though I will say that Bradley IS hogging the spot of bro comedy Hunklet who transitions into being a serious actor and academy darling that belongs to the considerably more versatile Zac Efron and Iron Claw will hopefully be pushed to next year or it really is robbed.

Iron Claw was his best performance ever.
Grown men were crying in the theater.
Magnificent.

I think that Bradley is a very likable personality in fun movies, but he's decided he wants to be taken seriously as a filmmaker and it's making him come across as too needy. I think he's trying really hard to follow in the Clooney path. For whatever reason, Clooney was able to pull it off - maybe because he didn't try to make himself into a musician too? I think they're both overrated.

And now Clooney has decided to be a vineyard owner as well. He recently bought one in South of France.
Hello, nobody wants to drink wine nowadays. whatever.

Oh my god Silver linings playbook aka PickMe death match with Jennifer Lawrence

I feel like he’s the more interesting part and he gives an interesting performance but NO one could grab attention from JLaw in her attention getting prime with that hideous Amy wine house wig.

I’ve loved Zefron since hairspray - (though he ruled in High school musical lol) he’s actually sensational at acting idk he just needs that extra kick or a better agent or something for everyone to see it.
Send him to whoever is managing Emma Stone. Maybe sacrifice a goat or two?

I think it’s the way they look and how it interacts with their persona. Clooney is handsome but he looks smug and he knows it; His whole vibe is just that He is just so terribly cultured and sophisticated and he loves the finer things in life and *also capsule coffee made by a heartless water monopoly that give you diarrhoea*

He’s not really trying to prove anything acting wise and hasn’t been for about 10 years he just takes roles that enhance the natural smug pretentiousness.

Bradley on the other hand he wants to prove himself and there is a lot more competition now. I mean remember how in the 90s we would pay £20 for 2 and go and watch total b movies at the cinema? Whereas now there’s Just so much choice you can just put a new Scorsese film on your watch list and never get round to it. It’s a lot harder to become a star and also easier. Very strange.

I was talking more about Clooney 10-15 years ago when he was taking on serious roles, directing, and trying to be an authority on every big new story because he'd done a movie about the subject.

It’s interesting and obviously this isn’t the Clooney thread but I feel like he at one point was meant to be the next big actor turned politician in the West Wing world becomes reality dream and he and Aaron Sorkin live laugh love America into a golden age. The fact that never happened and it all sort of flopped while Arnie became a governor is interesting.

I feel like they teased this alternate reality in the crap tastic flop fest that was the Ides Of March which is one of the movies which finally killed going to see mainstream movies blind for me.

Oh uh back to Bradley. Guardians of the galaxy 3 is unwatchable not because of him it just is.
