Sure, I just put it all over the bag with a clean cotton cloth (a small quantity is enough), leave it for a while (the instructions say a few minutes, I leave it a bit longer) and then wipe the bag with another clean cotton cloth, and that's it! I take out the two straps from their "holes" on the sides of the bag, so that you can work on the sides more easily, especially since they tend to crease with use. Sorry, I'm terrible at explaining things.....!

I have to admit, I spend a full day working on my box bags this way every three months or so. Another tpfer once told me her box bags became indestructible in the rain as such. I'm too chicken to try.

Hi both, may I ask you have also tried Docride's recommended Blackrock + Obeneuf treatment? If you have, do you mind sharing which way is better?

It's because your way sounds easier to handle and yet the result looks amazing!

I've never used Saphir, but I use Blackrock in pretty much the same fashion. I don't do it for waterproofing, just Blackrock to clean and condition. So just one application, buff, rest overnight, then put the straps back in place. I do it maybe once every six to eight months if I remember to do it. Blackrock is a thicker consistency than face lotion but not as solid as Meltonian shoe polish. I find it very easy to work with, but you definitely need a light hand. Too much and you'll have a sticky bag. I'm definitely considering buying a jar of Saphir after seeing how beautiful Duna's bags look.

Thanks my dear:hugs:

I spa them myself and every 2/3 years I send them to the H spa. I use Saphir renovator Nappa for delicate leathers. I find it excellent for Box and use it every 2/3 months. Here's the link: https://www.valmour.com/cleaning-products/leather-renovator-nappa-medaille-dor,512

I took Duna's advice a few years ago regarding the Saphir Renovator and had difficulty finding it at the time. I wanted it because I had bought a vintage black box Kelly and wanted to give it a good drink. It is a wonderful product and easy to use and the results are amazing! I now use this on all my box bags and use Meltonian lotion or cream on the grained leathers.

THANK YOU DUNA!!!

Yes, you're right, I had said I would post my Box bags at the beguining of this thread and then I completely forgot!

Here are some: From left to right: 35 Chocolat Kelly from 2007, black HAC 32 2008, Chocolat 35 Birkin also 2008. Front row, black 32 Kelly from 1997 and Vert Foncé 32 Kelly from 1992.

Your box collection is amazing. The leather of each bag is gorgeous. Thank you for the Saphir suggestion. I will have to see where I can purchase this in the US.

I'm not brave enough either, although I have been caught in drizzles with my brown Birkin and no signs remained. I did dry the rain drops off ASAP though.

I'm in Europe and the B+O aren't available here, while Saphir I order on the Valmour website which is in France, so I have no problems with Customs.

Thanks my dear! Saphir is extremely easy to use and since I'm not very patient with more complicated treatments, it suits me fine!!
