I think your bracelet is gorgeous. I love it. Price aside, it is made of Peruvian Pink Opals. These are different than the opals that we normally think of when we think "opal". They do not have the flashes of color, but instead radiate an inner glow. Without seeing the quality of the opals in real life it is hard to determine if it is over priced. There are cheap Peruvian Pink Opals just like there are cheap diamonds. Given that this is a David Yurman piece I am betting these are top quality stones. I would be thrilled with this piece if my DH presented it to me. Congratulations.

It is a very dainty pretty bracelet....but not for 2k:( Ive seen them get outrageous in their price point within the last few years & this is a good example of it....that is why Im a former DY addict now.

As many have pointed out here already, if it doesnt make your heart soar take it back. Im sure you'll find something just as pretty to replace it with that wont make you question the cost:)

all yurman is expensive for what it is, if you don't love the design..there is no harm in returning it. if your heart wants it back...you can always buy it again!

but, if my husband bought it for me, i might keep it. (he never buys jewelry)

i guess i was no help at all

**update** I took it back to South Coast David Yurman and they wouldn't refund me (:cursing: store policy I wasn't aware of!) and gave me a merchandise credit instead. I was really hoping for a refund so I can go elsewhere. PM me if anyone need to get anything Yurman in the South Coast area...LOL

Thanks again for all your advices.

**Lesson learnt, will definitely not buy on impulse and look for something I absolutely

well, aren't all dy pieces overpriced? so it's only worth it if you love it. personally, i think you have a gorgeous piece of jewelry and i would love to have one like it! =P but if you're feeling your dh spent too much, then i can't see how you can enjoy your pretty bracelet.

oh, whoops! just saw your edit.

I see you took it back and they would only give a store credit. I think that is crazy for someone buying a gift (like your husband). That would really irk me.

^^ I thought I was the only one thinking that. At that price point especially if you or your husband were unaware of the return policy, it would have been better if they did refund.

Hubbie was a good sport about it. I was a little irked by the return policy. The SA did not mention the policy during or werw there any signs posted in the store as a courtesy either. I guess always read the super fineprint.

Not sure what to get with my gift cert now given my annoyance with Yurman right now.

I would honestly return it because $2000 can get you 'more' bling for your buck. I agree that it is very pretty but I don't think it looks like 2 grand. I think that if you kept that piece you would end up regretting it.

---I just read your update. Did you get a manager involved to give you a refund instead of credit?

Yes, she was sitting right at her desk and never once came over to say anything. She just listened in, looked up at me and went right back to whatever she was doing. I've been a long time customer of Yurman, but not to the VIP amount they would make exception for. They actually looked up my sales record and told me I wasn't up to VIP status and therefore store policy states no refund. I was really annoyed nevertheless.

Im sorry this happened...yes it is their policy we also learned the hard way. My husband still buys DY but does it in Saks or NMs since they will refund in the event you decide to take it back. This past Xmas he surprised me with a DY ring that was VERY similar to one I already had & I was SOOOO releived that he had bought it at Saks, since I remembered their policy. I will continue to wear their pieces, and will buy them when I see them at a great price but I refuse to give the actual DY boutiques any of my business.Their return policy is terrible & their repair/customer service even worse.
