Bottega Bonanza - the last hurrah (?!)

Aww thanks guys! I am actually looking at a few other home items for the desk, but in different colors to complement, from MadaLuxe again and Saks Off Fifth. I did have to come to terms spiritually with the idea I'd mark the light items, but in some cases I do think those marks are signs of wear and love. Arturo's in Beverly Hills is an amazing leather worker and I did think to myself I wonder if one day I could just re-dye the leather to something else and give it a new life if I'm unhappy with how signs of wear show on the lighter leather.

I'm still waiting for authentication from Authenticate4U for the belt and duffle - it's been 10 days since submission, and I have picked up new pieces, too that I'll add here (once authed!)...it's become a fun new hobby looking for older pieces. I was trying not to over-use and be respectful of the auth thread here - but other than Auth4U, who do we trust for BV authentications? I always loved Castira and Carol for LV and Gucci but have only ever used Auth4U for BV...

There's never been any reason to send our BVettes elsewhere for authentication. I feel pretty confident between our most experienced members, we'll be able to ease your mind.

I just recently purchased from MadaLuxe Vault, and it was (and is) the real deal! Saks Off 5th just pisses me off because they have such good classic BV. I know my Saks Off 5th store has at least three pieces that nobody knows about, I don't know how they're ever going to sell them.

Thanks! The reception is a bit different by brand, but this just proves to me BV is the best brand AND this is the best subsection of the forum. I'll keep posting my pieces and you can tell me to buzz off if/when I overwhelm...can't stop, won't stop. Which pieces are you eyeing at Off Fifth? I'm looking at a pillow and a tray to match the bin and tissue boxes on MadaLuxe...

Oh, the pillow ... OMG. My DH would kill for that, but nope. Not gonna do it.

There are two black ostrich continental wallets and a deco rose/quartz checker design french wallet at SO5 - they are at the Eagan/Twin Cities Premium Outlets store; not sure if they do phone orders - you'd have to fly in. Not sure why they aren't online, but I know the cabinet these are in is filled with old Celine, Karl Lagerfeld (sp), Burberry ... It's just nuts.

Do you have more pics of your duffel? I really wanted black but its no longer on their site. Now deciding between espresso and the colour you bought. I hope to God they will restock the black though!

Yes! I sent them to Auth4U for the authentication request (which still has not been responded to - lol, civilizations will rise and fall before I get my reply) BUT hopefully they will help you in terms of color. I had initially wanted black, too, but I’m actually so happy with this color. It has the classic feel of black but with some character. Also, contrasting accessories (of which there is an ever-growing cadre now) give the collection a cohesive feel because of the intrecciato but some fun in that it’s not monochromatic.

I had initially wanted black, too, but I’m actually so happy with this color. It has the classic feel of black but with some character. After weeks of no response, I read on the ebay forum here that they respond better through Facebook message, so I sent them the info through FB (I had disabled my account and activated it again just for this purpose ). I received a response almost immediately. If you have not tried, it, send them a message through FB. Hope this helps!

Thank you! Yes, I’ve seen this “pro tip” and tried it even last year with my first-ever requests to them. They always respond promptly, but it’s just not with the auth results (e.g., “We’re checking our files . . .”). It’s fine as this is hardly life and death, and I think you could force a return even after a return window if the item was adjudged to be fake. I just don’t think they’re the service for me since it’s been several weeks, which in my view is way too long. I’d rather pay a higher price for prompt results, frankly.

In any event, it sounds like MadaLuxe is trusted and so I bought the waste basket, a pen tray, and a tissue box cover last night. I think then I’ve really run out... **but who am I kidding?!

MadaLuxe sold it as Light Tourmaline, but I'm not familiar enough with all of the colors to confirm or deny, so not sure...

Yep, that may be correct - looking at it again in comparison to my New Steel/Cement hobo, yours has definitely got a tinge of blue. Just a gorgeous piece! Congrats again!
