Bloomingdales sent me a fake trench

omg. maybe some jerk bought a real one from them & returned that thing. But who would take that back or let it slip onto the floor? It looks like garbage even from the photos-- terrible stitching & plastic buckles?! :confused1:

I don't know enough about the trench to offer an opinion on whether or not it's authentic. But regardless, it's obviously not of the quality you should expect for that price. You are right to complain!

Wow - does this mean a SA switched them? Or a previous "return" that the store didn't properly check? YIKES.

FWIW, I bought my coat in-store (at a US Burberry boutique) and I found some quality issues with the buckle feeling plasticky too -- but I think it was leather, just not all leather-like in texture. The other things you mentioned do seem like red flags, though.

My guess is that someone traded a fake for the real one and returned it and got their money back!

This is what it seems like. Someone took the labels out of the authentic trench and glued them into this one, returned this (fake) and got their $ back. I don't know anything about Burberry authenticity but this looks so poorly made compared to the Burberry trenches that I have seen in store. So sorry, OP!

Now that I look at the pictures in detail... they sent you a coat with RIPPED SEAMS? What!

Forget even an authenticity concern... what kind of returns inspection misses ripped seams? That should have been a ridiculously huge tip-off!

This is what Bloomingdales sent me. A $50 gift card.

"I apologize for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you. While
we never like to hear that we did not meet your expectations, your
comments are important to us, as they provide us an opportunity to
follow up with the appropriate action. "

Am I crazy? I really don't see this as "not meeting expectations". It's not like they sent me the wrong color. I paid $1700 for a coat and they sent me a fake. They have yet to acknowledge that this is a HUGE mistake? Again--what if I hadn't known better?

What would you guys do?

Are they going to process a total refund of your purchase as well? I was thinking they sent the gift card as an additional apology. However, if they are only sending the gift card and not giving you a full refund, I would say that is completely unacceptable.

They are sending me a replacement jacket. It just blows my mind they won't take responsibility for this rather large mistake.

When they sent me the Ann Taylor Loft jeans I never got sorry from them or a gift card

But then again I don't spend $1700

I posted on Bloomingdales FB page my mishap back in August

They took it back and are sending you a replacement and gave you a 50.00 gift card. That sounds to me as if they took responsibility and gave you a small gift to acknowledge your inconvenience as well. What more would you have them do?
