I don't know as I've never actually placed an order in the states. For some places (not necessarily major department stores as, again, I don't know) your shipping address has to match billing address for international orders.

so in order to get the 20% discount i should wait till 3/10 to apply for the credit card? and once the card is approved, which i assume would take a few weeks, i will be able to use it to purchase chanel at a 20% discount?

^ The approval process takes less than 10 minutes depending on whether or not you have good credit history. The purchase has to take place that day or else the 20% new cardholder discount is not eligible

usually what credit limit do ppl get once they answer the security question? because for my BOA credit card, i think my credit limit is only 2,500 which is not enough to buy a classic flap....I pay all my bills on time though...

Has anyone had James from MA reply via email in the last couple of days? I've never worked with him before, but it's been several days since I emailed him.

My "regular" SA (only worked w/her 2x before) from the Boston Chanel boutique replied right away, but I really want to take advantage of the 20% off @ Bloomies! Is it really worth me saving $500-600 to get poor customer service from James? I'm torn...

I'm not sure if James even works there anymore...I stop by Chestnut Hill a lot and have only seen Jane or Lois. I don't know anyone's email addresses so I'd just call to find out what's in stock.

Poohbear - I was told to apply that same day. Like others have mentioned the approval process is instantaneous, but then you may have to call to get your credit limit increased for a big purchase. SA said to tell them exactly how much credit you need (aka the cost of your bag).

Shopaholicat - shipping address doesn't need to match billing for this. It should be fine to ship to your cousin in NY.

We don't have a Bloomies in our state. I applied for the card online durign the promotion. got an email at the end of the day asking me to call them back. I did and gave them all the info needed and card was approved. At the time I also told them I would be making a major purchase (that is a Chanel costing xxxx) and they bumped up the credit limit. It also depends on your credit rating.
