For the past few years Nordstrom has been facing financial difficulties made even worse by the closing for COVID-19. Shoppers are going to have to accept that the company cannot afford to cater to the whims of shoppers quite as liberally as they have in the past. Shoppers who routinely order something just so they can look at it and then return are going to be weeded out by necessity. Nordstrom is in the process of closing 14% of their stores and they are doing better than most other department stores. They are not trying to be mean, they are trying to survive.

I confess I once made an outrageous in store return at Nordstrom. I returned Aquazurra shoes my mom purchased 6+ months ago and never worn. Nordstrom was gracious and I never expected to be able to return those shoes. My overall return rate is around 20% online (I don’t usually return with postage but take it to their store.) I am not an expert in this topic, but if your actual purchase history consists of $1-200 dresses but orders $3000 dresses online and promptly return every time, they may see you as a problematic customer. I don’t think return percentage is the only factor.

Hey everybody, I'm new here but had a quick question. I'm kind of posting on behalf of my lady friend and don't want her to see this. Anyways, I'm wondering, is there a way to find out if someone is blacklisted? She never received any emails from Nordstrom Rack, but can no longer access her account. She's used the forgot password feature, after changing passwords, she still cannot sign in. I created an account, changed passwords, and everything is great. Is not being able to log onto the website/app a sign she might be blacklisted? She did return quite a bit, but it was purchased during a multiple month span. Only reason she returned so much at once was because during the pandemic, she couldn't return anything. She obviously kept many things as well. Big thing for her was buying multiple sizes of different coats and things. Anybody have an opinion? I told her I believe she's blacklisted. Just curious what others think.

my orders were cancelled left and right due to "payment issue" back in May despite using the same credit card for years when I called CS they did not say I was banned but had to look into this issue. luckily I am able to place orders now.

Sometimes when you change passwords, you have to respond to an email to activate the PW change. Could that be the issue that she didn't activate through an email?

No, because I created an account to try and test everything, and my account, including password change went through just fine. No matter what, she simply is not allowed access to her account. Again, that's why I'm here curious if that is a sign of blacklisting.

I’m glad companies are banning people with super high return rates. It’s ridiculous. You can use a measuring tape and see their sizing charts + look at the reviews. Or only buy in person. A return once in a while is fine but every order? Buying like 10+ dresses with the intent to keep 1?

After reading this thread I’m paranoid that every item was taken home by someone, tried on and kept in their house for 1-4 weeks then returned! Who knows if their house is nasty or if they smoke. Maybe their pet slept on it. I’ve heard of people who will purchase an expensive jacket or dress, leave the tag on, wear it for a night then return it. I’m sure returns go right back on the rack. Yuck!

I hate this especially with high-end bags. I know its common for people buy multiple colors or styles and play with them for the month to “decide which color or bag suits my life style best.” When I drop a few grand on a bag I don’t want it to have been in someone else’s hands and house for a month! So gross! I wish they would just be more sure of themselves to make a decision.

Glad companies are putting an end to this practice.

I don't like the hassle of returning, so I rarely buy clothing or shoes online because sizing is so tricky. Once in awhile I'll take a chance on something, usually it works out. Mostly if I'm buying online it's beauty products, purses, accessories, or jewelry as I don't have to worry about fit issues.
