She loves it..it's funny, she's a LOT harder on her bags than I am and gets pen marks on the insides and stuff then blames it on me lol. I'm super neat with my bags and she bashes them around. I'm kind of reluctant to let her use mine haha.
For example, when she carried that bag a couple months ago to Disneyland when it was raining, she got it absolutely drenched and was like, "oh no big deal." Meanwhile, I was trying to hold an umbrella over it lol. It turned out ok in the end because the patina didn't even darken a bit but I thought that was funny.
Cool. My mom is sooo getting a damier or epi item for christmas so that I don't need to listen to her being afraid she'll ruin the bag with dirt or something, but she hasn't borrowed one of my bags yet, but I'll let her take my speedy out one day if she promise not to smoke near it or keep cigarettes in it

Lol that's funny..thankfully no one in my family smokes so my bags keep smelling really good for a long time hehe. But the rain thing..it's weird because I KNOW the water soaks in to all the handles and doesn't affect the patina on anything I've ever carried yet I still try to keep them out of the water lol.
Both of my parents smoke.. a lot, and sometimes I just can't keep myself from wondering what kind of bag collection my mom would have had if she spent her money on bags instead of cigarettes (one 20 pack of cigarettes in norway is about 10 dollars and she's been smoking for 38 years..)
However, my room is far away from where they smoke, and I'm moving out this summer, so hopefully the smoke hasn't done any serious damage to my bags.
My mom teases me for having a shopping bag in my LV in case of rain, but I told her that she should be happy that I take care of my things, but she still don't get it..

i'm also a heavy smoker, but sometimes i smell my bags, and i didn't smell smokes. maybe in my clothers, but not on my leather bags
and OMG, cigs are expensive in norway huh? in indonesia, it only cost less than 1 US$ for a pack of marlboro. it's smokers heaven here, maybe ur parent will consider moving up here ?
I don't have any pics...but recently, in one of the threads I started in another board, alot of MC Speedy owners complained about how heavy it is.

Hahaha yeah, there are norwegians that have moved abroad soley because of the high alcohol and sigarette prices
The reason why cigarettes is so expensive here is because of taxes, when smokers gets lung cancer or stuff like that, they have financed their treatment through taxes all these years. I hope LV's won't be heavily taxed (luxury tax-thing) when they open a butique here. Then I'd rather go to Denmark where they have hot SAs too. lol (/off-topic)
Sorry for hijacking your tread Iluvbags! But anyways, check the speedy thread maybe? or google it? And people say that it's heavy, but I don't think it will be too bad, it won't stop me from getting mine at least

I totally have to agree! Acutally, pics like this is why I decided that I want the black speedy instead of the white, because the black gets so gorgeous with patina, I mean, the white doesn't get ugly or anything, but the black gets really beautiful.
. The patina looks better on the black (atleast in pics) than it does on the white. I dunno why
