Black bag help needed!

I think I'm narrowing in on either Gucci or YSL. I think the Valentino looks so much like a Kelly that if I want that style I should get the Kelly. Not sure which way to go between Gucci & YSL though

I don't know if the Epi line would be considered clean/sleek, but I love my Epi Brea MM in black

So far it's Gucci 5, Valentino 4 and YSL 0.

(I'm surprised the YSL didn't get any votes.)

Update: I purchased the Gucci Soft Jackie (on Tradesy) and loved it. As I always do with any bag I don't buy from the boutique / Saks, etc., I got it authenticated and it was a fake.


Luckily I was able to get my money back but I'm back at square one. As always, I'm open to ideas and suggestions. I'll update again if I ever get my elusive perfect black bag. LOL!

Of the three you shared, i prefer the YSL the most.

Have you considered the LV Brea? I think it fits all of your criteria nicely, except the price is be a bit higher.

Two lovely structured bags that have caught my eye recently are the Black Suede and Leather Shopper at Aerin for $1400, and the Black Top Handle bag for $1850. The top handle does not appear to have a shoulder carry option, but it does appear to have (hooray! hooray!) an exterior pocket, which always thrills me in a geometric, Kelly-esque bag. Both bags are stunning and architectural, made in Italy, leather lined, and have discreet branding.

Of these I like the Valentino best. My favorite black/silver bag is my Fendi Be Baguette, but it is a bit dressy for day. Some other ideas--Givenchy Obsedia, Loewe Puzzle, Fendi Peekaboo, Ralph Lauren Ricky, Valextra and Delvaux.
