Birkin Sellier

When I say close fully, I meant put the flap outside and secure it. But the same stiffness applies when I put it inside (how it’s on my photo and your avatar - that’s also how I prefer to carry it on my B35) - it doesn’t stand nicely inside. It’s hard for me to explain this feeling, it’s just so hard and stiff and not easy to put anything inside the bag or take out. Probably a combination of sellier and leather type. Maybe it “relaxes” a bit with time...

Don’t get me wrong, it’s a gorgeous bag and I don’t regret buying it, but isn’t practical enough as my work horse, which I hoped it would be.

that is so so interesting. Thanks so much for your user feedback! Now I am truly curious.... do you prefer your “normal” 35 over this?

There is a long Birkin Sellier thread starting from the first release here .
Yes, I’m aware of that thread, thank you. However, it is dedicated to the initial release, a special edition in size 40 only that is unlined and comes with a pouch. ;)
I got one in October, in size 30 in Monsieur leather.. Love the sleek look and that it’s not so common, and couldn’t believe it’s the first bag offered to me ever in H store.
However, it’s not the most practical as the leather is stiff and it’s impossible to close fully (I struggle to do it even for storing). I miss the usual B softness you get, even in stiffer leathers in “retourne”.
I own a K28 sellier in epsom and K32 sellier in box, and both are more practical due to different opening.
Thank you so much for sharing! :flowers: Do you not use it as much as a result or do you still try and make it your workhorse bag? Eager to see how it ages with time. Also, do you have a regular Retourne Birkin? If so, would greatly appreciate comparison pics of what fits inside. :)

I have a B35 retourne courchevel and this B30 sellier Monsieur, and I prefer the first one for work and any very casual setting, not just for the size but for simply how easy it is to put things inside and how it feels in/on the arm.
If I got the chance to buy the B30 sellier vs. B30 retourne in the same spec, for daily use I would go for the “normal” retourne.

But accepting this offer for me was a no brainer, simply because it’s gorgeous and it’s not the only H bag I have or will have.

I think I’d use it more if it was more practical/easier to use. Having said that, I got it two months ago when I was 9 months pregnant, so I’ve been mostly on maternity leave since and had limited opportunities to wear it. Time will tell...

My other B is 35, so not comparable to the 30 sellier.

I think you def will get good use out of it! Having different sizes is always a good idea. wear it with great health and :congrats: on your little one!

I absolutely love Kelly selliers but I am on the fence with Birkin selliers. I need to see these in person before I commit to liking or not liking them.

I agree. Personally, trying on a handbag is the only way to know if I would truly want to purchase it. I have fallen in love with so many pictures of handbags, to then go and try them on and be disappointed.

Wow this is so stunning, sorry it is not practical though.

Can we see the interior? Is it the same? I'd just love to see more pics because your bag is so pretty! I love it!

I totally understand what you mean now. thank you for clarifying!!! I do think it is very formal looking (& modern & rigid) for the birkin "tote style" bag too. But, I must have one for my collection! I just love sellier and BIRKINS! =)

Sure, will snap a few photos and post tomorrow. I think the interior is the same, don’t remember any difference but I’ll check.
