I think Hermes is one brand of very few that can actually "back-up" their current prices.
The brand's virtues- relatively low production, exclusivity (ironically aided by the high prices), and non-ubiquity - are what many high end luxury consumers are looking for.

Many other less exclusive luxury goods makers will not be so lucky - this current economic cycle will be a litmus test of sustainability and customer loyalty for many brands.
