Hi all, am new to this forum when I was searching for Plastic Surgeons in Korea...

I am planning to do a lower & upper eye blepharoplasty next Jan or Feb.

Thanks to this forum I have written to a few clinics, hope someone can give me their experiences on them:

BK Hosptial-Dr Kim. He is super fast in his email response. I have also done a skype consultation. Fees quoted was 1.5k USD for each lower & upper.. However I have read review here that service is bad? Has anyone got gd experiences with them?

Teuim: They replied via email. They have suggested many procedures after seeing my photo. Double eyelid with ptosis correction, epi, lower eye fat graft and tear trough grafth. Their fees are rather high, just the double eyelid & ptosis correction is 2.75million won.

Item: Quoted upper eyes 1.54mill won for upper eyes and 1.65 mill won for lower eyes.

Has anyone done the eyes at the above clinics? Will be great if you may share your experiences..

I have tried reading throught the forum but too much to read ;p

Cheers!

I havn't heard about that in Korea, but a lot in Thailand :). Im Thai and the lip surgery is really popular in Thailand, I didn't do that, but some of my friends did.

Ah really?! :D You don't know how happy I am to know that. Do you know what the surgery is called, or know of a place that specializes in it? My lips are one of my bigger complexes, so I've been wanting to get them done, but haven't found a place that actually specializes in lip shape surgery. I might just go to Thailand as well! Thanks for letting me know.

Hi guys,

I'm going to consult with smallface, ID and regen in late Jan 2013 so would like to ask a few questions and hope someone can help (i've tried searching myself to not much avail).

1) Are there any other hotels other than sunshine and young dong which are near these clinics? I hope that I can try homestay style or some other alternatives other than these 2 hotels.

2) I plan to stay in Korea for 10 days. Is it alright? I can extend my stay if need be (up to 14 I guess). Be doing zygoma, mandible/vline and rhino (if they have a package with more discount due to limited budget)

Anyway I'm from Singapore so if anyone wants to join me, feel free! Haven't bought my tickets yet. Planning to use my citibank ATM to do withdrawals there instead (higher exchange rate and no transaction fee). Probably will just exchange some wons here just-in-case. And yea, I've contacted Zoe and will be engaging her service.

I'm quite excited and have purchased some winter-wear as the temperature will be about 0 degrees Celsius I heard. It'll be my first WINTER! Woohoo¬! Hope my surgery will turn out to be what I expect it to be *fingers cross

Hey,
Another forumer (Reenesyd) and I are planning to go around then too (Early feb ish) we should meet up!
Anyways, I heard last year winter in korea was SUPER cold!
Hopefully we all won't freeze >.<

Hi ladies,

I want to share my experience. So i arrived in Korea on Thu night and went into surgery the next day with Dr. Kim Byong at BK. First, the whole surgery experience was really fast and efficient. I think the whole process of consultation to the actual surgery was about 3 hours or so. So i'm on day 3 (its sunday here now) and i'm feeling ok. Not much pain w/ the meds i'm taking but let me tell you!...the swelling is insane. Bascially my whole face is swollen! i think yesterday was the worst and today is slightly better.

I'll keep you guys posted on the recovery.

hi there,

oh my gosh, i cant wait until i get my stiches out. did you get your nose done as well? also did you drink the pumpkin juice? i have some but havent drank them. I heard that this juice helps w/ swelling?

HEY EVERYONE,

Does anybody know any people (apart from Zoe and Nicole and Kara) who do the postoperative care, translating and taking to and from surgery in Seoul for plastic surgery? They are all busy during this time!!! :(

I highly recommend anyone planning on doing facial contouring surgery to also check out the X if you haven't already. I started reading on page 200, but I recommend reading everything if you have the patience that I lack. Even still, it's been extremely helpful for me, as it's made my job of narrowing down potential clinics a lot easier. For example, I was initially planning on getting my 2-jaw and v-line surgery done at ID after rave reviews on this forum and after my Korean friend translated some positive reviews on Naver and Daum... but after reading some of the horror stories from former patients of ID on x, I'm actually reconsidering. Anyway, not to discourage anyone planning on getting consultation or surgery done at ID, because they are the pioneers of some of the most invasive jaw surgeries, and have plenty of experience under their belt. I'm sure you're in good hands. :) I just think it's a good idea to check out both the positive AND negative reviews, then make the critical decisions afterward.
Yup i cant agree with more
some of the surgeries do sound extremely invasive~

This may be a stupid question, but you do keep your bra and underwears on during surgery right? LOL :oh:
yes or no
if u gonna have GA (general anaesthetics), u might asked to remove ur underwears but u will be given a patient gown
some procedures will be done under local anaesthetic (+/- sedation),in that case u might be able to keep ur underwears on
however above is according to my experience in Australia and hope it can help u somehow

Hi minniemintmint,
just realised we are both in australia:)
I have the same concerns as mirr, plus my mouth corner is a lil drooping. I cannt wait to have the corrected . could u pls recommend any trustworthy clinics?
many thx indeed;)
xx

What are you getting again? Was it facial contouring? Duude... That's some gnarly business. I considered zygoma... and then I realized that I was bat **** crazy for even thinking about it... I hope you have someone who can help you out for the first few days... Especially if you don't speak Korean. Even then...

Well, Emisa and tons of forumers went and got everything done on their own. Good luck to you! Which clinics are you considering?
Yes, I'm considering facial contouring. It is a bit scarey!

I'm considering only between the two: Grand or wonjin.

I am thinking of adding a few more to the list of my option a and b don't work out too well.

You will feel dizzy and weak after you wake up, but you know what, for me I felt so relieved that it was over and done with. I felt really exhausted and the nurse had to help me walk to the treatment room. The next few hours and days perhaps you might still feel weak, coz you're also going to be on antibiotics too so you're body is going through a lot.

After my surgery I took the following suppliments:

Vitamin C
Milk thistle
Arnica
Bromelain
Fish oil capsules

I ordered these mostly through Amazon before I left.

I also bought surgical masks online too (really cheap) and I would suggest anyone who is having rhinoplasty to wear them after your surgery as there's a lot of cars and roads in Seoul and you wanna protect your nose as much as possible. I met up with another forumer, kkim, and she was being a good patient and wearing hers all the time (whereas I got a bit lazy and didn't use it as much!)
That is great advice! I will definitely have to add that to my to do list before I go. ^^

Thanks a lot!
