Sounds like a plan! Will pm you.

I'm leaving during the first week of dec (haven't bought tickets yet, will confirm exact dates when I do~!) and ideally be back home around around the 22nd.. so we'll be able to meet!

Meeememememe :p

Yeah definitely! What are you getting done?

Yes, i have. I feel super irritating with all the dried snot. I used cotton buds and get grid of them. Feel much better. But of coz must be really gentle. Actually, i dont want to disturb my nose, find it still quite fragile but everymorning i wake up my Airway isnt clear,so no choice have to do something withh it. Hope the problem wil go away soon. Glad u like ur new shape of ur nose. Btw, have u check with nicole whats the skin clinic u went?

Funny you should say that coz when I went home after work yesterday I was so looking forward to getting rid of some boogie with tweezers but by the time I got home it was gone, so I used the cotton bud instead! You are right though, cotton buds are much more gentle than trying to get it out with your pinky! Ok enough of this gross boogie talk lol!

I'm sorry I'm taking ages to get back to you about the lazer clinic. I kakao Nicole yesterday and she is on holiday in taiwan. She has all the leaflets of the clinic back at home so she can't remember the name either, and I also asked her of the chief doctor who did my skin treatment so she'll let me know both when she's back in Seoul (don't worry she's definitely gonna tell me once she's home) I know though that the clinic is not in the gangnam gu area as we took the subway there. BUT it is a specialised lazer clinic and its very luxurious inside (though perhaps not on the outside!) Nicole went there without me to check it out (she's planning on doing more skincare stuff so wanted to find a new clinic) Anyway, we both loved it and the doc (he was quite charming and handsome may I add!) was super patient as I was talking with him for at least 45 min with Nicole there for translation. I'm so glad I got rid of my freckles coz my skin looks really good now and it makes me think how careful I'm going to be in the sun now!

I'll get back to you with the name of the clinic + doctor!!!!

Hi London chick. I've been looking for a great dermatology clinic that I can visit during my stay in Korea. I really want to get rid of the pesky red acne scars that have plagued me my whole life. Do you mind telling me where you went, if they're well-known locally, and if they have a website? :) Thanks!

Hi marir. I've jut replied to cocochanel's post so you'll see that I'm waiting for my friend to remind me of the clinic's name. She was recommended to it by her friend and we were both impressed with the service and how professional they all are. She's on holiday at the mo and will let me know the clinics name and doctors name who did my treatment as soon as she's back (think this week she's back!)

All I know is, I am sure that they will help with your acne. Although mine was for freckles, I saw lots of other pictures of different skin treatments, so some were for acne, freckles, scars etc. When I go back to seoul I'm going to go back there and remove a scar I have which I've had since I was nine. Its not too noticeable but I'll be nice to have it gone.

I was skeptical about the whole lazer thing at first coz I've never even really heard about it, and all my research was for rhinoplasty! But since Nicole had it done and her skin is gorgeous, I knew that it worked. And now my skin is so much nicer! However it is quite expensive I thought (I had a lot of freckles removed though so it will vary for different people and whatever treatment youre having done) so just bear that in mind.

As soon as I get the name of the clinic and the doc I had I will let you know. There are loads of skin clinics in Seoul, again its like all the different plastic surgeries! My friend was saying that its more common for the girls there to have skincare treatments than plastic surgery because its non surgical. I can believe that coz all the girls' skins look lovely, so that that must explain it lol.

Hi there :) Thanks for the tip! I'll get in touch with her too. From the sound of it, i am assuming she knows which clinics are good as well? Definitely have a local contact there would make life much easier and comforting!

Yes she knows about a few clinics because she worked in a clinic as an English translator/consultant so she is knowledgeable in the plastic surgery field.

However, every opinion of clinics are different so I would advise that you don't depend solely on Nicole's opinion. All the clinics in Seoul are good but its a matter of who YOU feel most comfortable with during the consultation with the surgeon. During all my research I would listen and appreciate other people's opinions on the clinic they recommended but I would always listen to my instinct when it came to the ultimate decision of who I would choose. Use Nicole more for the translation. She isn't a surgeon and I know she wouldn't feel comfortable recommending a specific clinic for your surgery (she just isn't that type - she will expect that you have certain clinics that you have in mind to visit and then I presume she will organise everything else for you) At the end of the day, it's your face and you have to decide for yourself. Sorry for going on about it, but I just wanted to stress that choosing which clinic you go to should be ultimately your decision without any influence from anyone else.

But yes you are right, having a local contact will really make your surgery journey that more comforting and easy. I am so thankful I had the opportunity to meet her and be good friends, as well as meeting with other forumers here too.

To be honest... I don't know! My sister told me today that my nose shrunk considerably since the last time she saw me (a couple days ago), so I imagine there's still a lot of deswelling to go through... I messaged Yumi (the English consultant at JW) with a picture a couple days ago, and she said that I still have a lot of swelling as well...

Regardless, this swollen nose is so much better than what it was before~! And as it deswells, it's looking more and more natural and prettier! :D
Those of you who do not need bridge augmentation, I HIGHLY recommend getting a tiplasty from a skilled surgeon. It's really subtle, I didn't realize how much my nose had changed until I compared my before picture with my current face, and your entire face becomes prettier!

I also got my hair permed, so my hair went from straight to wavy.. When friends ask what changed, I always say, "I got my hair permed!" that way the change in my appearance can be attributed to something other than my face. But I've also been TOLD (not asked) that I lost weight and others have told me that I look really good for some reason (not the hair), and others still have asked me if I'm in love! ha! :roflmfao::roflmfao::roflmfao::roflmfao:

My only complaint is the same as LondonChicks'.... I can't stick my finger up my nose and pick out the dried (and painful) boogers poking my nasal passage. Q-tips and nasal mists just won't cut it... Although they do help...
Lol. Yeah we got boogy problems mate!

I'm SO GLAD to hear the swelling has gone done lots for you!! Yay!!

x

What surgeries will you be doing? and which clinics are you going to ?

I'm doing eyes + nose and my top picks are Chungdam U, BK, JW and I'm reeeeally interested in popular ones the locals go to. If you read London_chick's posts, she said there were over ~400 which is insane!

Yeah definitely! What are you getting done?

Eyes + nose. What about you?

kkim120 - I'm happy to hear that! Your successful surgery (along with how kind, honest, and sincere your doc sounds) made me put JW on my list and I think others as well. :D

Omg! let us know when you get the clinic name! Btw do you guys think is normal for a person who'd done nosejob and get a filler on tip/bridge for further refinement? A friend of mine did that and she look so fab!!

Does anyone know if Korea has a lip shape surgery? I've never heard of it, so I don't know what it would be called lol. I want my lips to look like the following picture, with the top lip lifted/shadow look. I also really like the "M" wave look of the upper lip. My lips pretty much look normal, without the top lip lifted/shadow look and the "M" wave look. Does anyone know if lip shape surgery even exists? Thanks!
bump for you

My friend also does this to her nose plus to her jaw and I agree, she looks great! She looks much prettier. I personally would dread having to get it redone over and over again but she doesn't mind.
