I use the Oscar Blandi one:

I use the powder, not the spray, and I just sprinkle it on the roots or put some in my hands and then run it through my hair that way. I don't wash it out until the next time I shower. I've found it to work pretty well and I don't mind the smell.

I'll have to check out the TreSemme one...I made my own with corn starch and cinnamon from a recipe I found online and it actually works pretty good...the components were (I believe) 3 parts cornstarch to 1 part cinnamon, mix it well, and sprinkle lightly on roots then comb through. It really absorbs oil and gives you a shampooed look  Plus you end up smelling like pumpkin pie :p

That's brilliant! I'm going to try this! But I wonder if it will work for me though b/c I have black black black hair...will I turn out grey?

I received a bottle of Oscar Blandi's dry shampoo. What's the best and easiest way to use it on my thick long hair, do I need water and do I need to rinse out? Sorry if this is a dumb question, never used one before.

Nope, you just spray it or sprinkle it on, depending on which one you got, and brush or comb through it. You may have to use more since your hair is thick. If it's dark...well...use caution.

Hrrm I may have to try that recipe. Is it OK for dark hair or will it turn it chalky? I am interested in the TreSemme one as well, but so far I can't find it. For me, it's a toss up between Big Sexy Hair and Batiste, although the smells on both gross me out.

Yes. In my experience, it will turn it grey and it's impossible to comb it out. Even if you do get most of it to comb out (by then it's a greasy mess), it will have little white clingers. You know, like what it looks like when you use too much extra strength hairspray.

^^I've noticed this as well. I have fantastic volume and super hot Bridget Bardot hair the next day. I tease and hairspray my hair when I style it and on non-gym days I put cornstarch in it before bed, after brushing it. I put it on top of my head in a high bun and voila! The next morning the ends are slightly turned under, with a great body wave and tons of volume- no grease. My hair is dark too, so this really helps it not turn gray.

Cornstarch is a great thing to have on hand. It soaks up grease off of fabrics and is my go-to helper when I get something on my Uggs. I have a tub at work and at home. Plus, it's cheap, under $2!

I've tried just about every dry shampoo out there. I liked the oscar blandi powder for a little while but noticed it builds up on your scalp very quickly. So if you are only going to use it very infrequently I'd say it's fine. But if you use it a couple times a week I wouldn't recommend it. My favorite is Kevin Murphy's. It is kind of hard to find though since it is an Australian brand (you can only get it at salons or sometimes online). I think I may give bagap's recipe a try though.

Regarding the dark hair question, I have a medium brown and I really have to shake my head and disperse the cornstarch mixture but the initial grayness blends in fairly easily :)

Does anyone know of a great dry shampoo for thick hair? All reviews on products I have found are with people who have thin hair. I have really thick, coarse hair so I'd like to hear some feedback on others who use a dry shampoo with thick hair. TIA!

I have thick, but not coarse hair and haven't tried one yet that didn't make mine just feel dirty :-s
I've tried the popular Blandi one, Pssst! & Batiste.
I read in a magazine dampening a cotton ball w/ witch hazel and blotting along hair parts{s} is a good solution, I may try this when pressed for time next time.

I have thick, coarse hair and have tried a lot of products. Right now my favorite is the Batiste Diva and Batiste with the color tint in it (I use the black color). I think switching between the two helps. The Diva smells awesome too.

I have typical thick/coarse asian hair.. my fave dry shampoo ATM is Batiste Blush/Diva. Not fond of the scent of the original one.. I am still on the hunt for better dry shampoos but this is pretty good..

Hello, all! I'm looking for a dry shampoo that does the job, yet does not leave a white tinge to my hair. A fresh shampoo-y smell would be nice, too. Most of the ones I've tried smell like old hair sprays...

Any help that anyone could provide would be great! :smile1:
