Best Luggage

I've owned a lot of different luggage brands since the late 60s, as I love luggage and got my first matching set (Samsonite shocking pink) while in middle school. LOL!

But, what I have used most consistently, since the 80s/90s/2000s, has been either my hard-sided Vuitton, Bisten suitcases or my Kipling suitcases. Where I'm traveling to, in the world, determines what luggage I will take.

My luggage has not been destroyed and I've been traveling around the world, a lot with it, since the 70s.

As for my Vuitton, Bisten suitcases bought in the 80s, when I got home with them brand new, I took them to the luggage store in my city and had custom made covers made of strong, cotton canvas. The covers are solid-colored and dark brown, like the luggage, and have a double zipper, so I can now put the TSA lock on the two zipper tabs and leave the actual suitcase unlocked.

It cost me very little to have my covers custom made. Therefore my Vuitton luggage still looks very new. I bought all of my Vuitton luggage pieces, in Europe, in the 80s. Now, Vuitton suitcases come with covers.

Vuitton holds up very well even without covers. I've had all of my Keepall bags since the 80s and they are still in excellent condition. And my Vuitton luggage has been on every continent in the world and many times around. When it's been left out in the rain, like on the tarmac in Africa and Europe, back in the day, non of the contents have gotten wet and the rain has never affected the luggage pieces. Plus, it's great to use as a seat when there are no seats available in train stations, etc. So, for me, well worth the investment. I have absolutely no regrets.

As for the Kipling luggage, I've had the same excellent experience. It has also been on every continent many times around and has held up beautifully. The advantage of the Kipling is that it has wheels whereas my Vuitton, Bisten doesn't.

I've owned or still own a lot of different luggage pieces by different companies. Some I need to sell, like my Tumi pieces which I almost never use. They just haven't worked out for my travel situation. I could see using them more for road trips of which I don't take many.

I used to be a serious road warrior and the best luggage ever is Briggs & Riley. It has a lifetime warranty and I've never had a single problem with mine. They'll even repair damage caused by the airlines.

I like Samsonite. Very durable. Good price. The newer models are very light weight.

Lately, many friends said they like Rimowa though.

If you want a fun piece for traveling, try Hapitas. It's extremely light weight and has tons of fun prints. The price is also very good.

I just settle with mine and don't buy anything new until it breaks. :)

My bf has a 22" victorinox and the wheels are amazing. Even though it's not a 4 wheel spinner it's so much easier to roll than all my various Samsonite spinners. I keep replacing my Samsonite and he's had his victorinox for 6 years now. I keep saying my next one will be a victorinox but I can't seem to bite the bullet because I like having many sizes for luggage depending on where I go and how long I'm gone for and I don't know which size to get because I don't want to shell out that much money for 3 victorinox cases
