Best leather for a Kelly 25 or 28?

Thank you all! I’m interested in the Sellier, and have narrowed it down to Epsom vs Chèvre - any insights ?
I have a noir Black Sellier Kelly 28 GHW I got new from the boutique in 2020. I've taken it on several trips, and use it as a special outing bag for when I head out to the city, dinners with the girls etc. The Epsom wears well and is not as delicate as some leathers. Because its stiff, it also holds its shape well. After 3 1/2 years I don't have anything negative to say about the leather. Hope it helps.6743465F-A1A2-455B-A387-A92BFF762558_1_105_c.jpeg

Hello! I'm thinking of getting a Kelly in black with GHW, and wondered what would be the best leather to choose? I'd like the bag to hold its shape- love the patina box develops over time, does it scratch very easily? I am also thinking of the chevre, madame, or epsom.
Hi! I’m in a similar situation. A kelly 25 black with gold hardware. I wanted something a little different. The lizard touch only comes in retourne and the croc touch comes in madame. Would you consider a sellier touch in madame? It definitely looks different than epsom.

You're basically asking whether to get an entry level leather (Epsom) or a premium leather (Chévre) Kelly. Both are lightweight. Epsom is an embossed leather, whereas goatskin is a natural rather than embossed leather. The "embossed" texture can wear away, especially on the corners, and cannot be restored. With Chévre, the spine runs down the front center, and is matched on the bottom and the back. A work of art, in my opinion.
Can you clarify "wear away"? The reason I am asking is I have an Epsom Constance and an Epsom Kelly 25 sellier. My Constance seems a lot softer than the Kelly. It's a year older, but isn't as pebbled.

I'm so glad this thread was started b/c I'm going through the same dilemma. lol. I'm also trying to decide between Epsom and Chevre for a K25 sellier but have not been able to see pictures of the "spine that runs down the front center" with Chevre. Does anyone have a picture of this by chance? I tried to google chevre kellies randomly on the internet and couldn't see this spine. Thanks!

Hello ladies, Looking for a kelly 25 but cannot decide about what leather but for sure I want a sellier !
I already have a Kelly 28 black epsom sellier and I do not want to take the same leather.
I would like a structured bag so no slouchy leather.
Do you have any idea ?
Thank you very much

Well, your other alternatives at the moment are Box and Barenia, which are push offers, or Chèvre, which is rare in production and easier to get via A La Carte (SO).
None of these leathers will slouch; sellier Kellys do not slouch by nature of the construction. The stiffest will be Box and the softest will be chèvre, but again, a sellier 25 will always be structured.

I have all three leathers in K25 sellier; all three are beautiful; it's really up to your preference in terms of the texture, sheen, patina.
