Best and worst quality Contemporary brands?

Love her old school bags, too. Lots of her Made in USA bags were very well made. Too bad her newer, made in China bags are horrendous and cheap looking. I've seen her new bags at Nordstrom and they look like they're worth less than $30 and belong at Ross or TJ Maxx. Not worth the money anymore.
Not sure if Cambridge Satchel Co. is a Contemporary brand, but their bags are excellent quality and are handmade in Great Britain. Sure, their leather is super stiff, but I heard they soften up over time. I have their Small Portrait backpack and it is beautiful and actually holds quite a bit of stuff despite the compartment being so narrow. The only complaint is the straps are too long for me but that's okay. I still love it and I can't wait to break the leather in!
Surprised I haven't seen it yet but MBMJ has excellent quality leathers that smell so leathery good and are so smooshy! I have a Percy and regular size Natasha. They look as good as new even though I've worn them consistently and even thrown them in the trunk and let 'em roll around (woops 🙊
. I'm sad they've discontinued the line but MBMJ was my gateway bag into the world of handbag addiction and purseforum 🙈 Haven't delved much into the new consolidated MJ line or the previous MJ Made in Italy line so I can't speak too much on that.

In my opinion, Dooney & Bourke have the best quality at the best price. Very well made. I love the durability of the linings that they have had in most of their bags.
I find Brahmin has declined somewhat. It seems to me that at one time the leather was actually dyed. Now, in my opinion, it looks like a peel and stick on some of their bags. But, I still buy them.

I'm not very impresed with Coach. I've seen a lot of beautiful vintage bags that have held up well but I have one Coach pouch from a few years ago (gift from my cousin) where the leather started to "peel", almost like how nail polish chips off.
Didn't know that people had such great things to say about Dooney & Bourke - will check them out!

I've been pleased with my Mansur Gavriel although I haven't had it long enough to see how it holds up.
Twelve years ago or so I had one of the Dooney coated canvas bags and I remember the coating pealing away from the canvas within a couple of years, and I wouldn't say I was brutal with it or using it constantly.
I don't really like Coach but have received a bag and some SLGs over the years as gifts and they seemed decent quality.

It's a pity the D&B website is so bad though. I have been waiting for ages for them to restore international shipping but it doesn't look like anytime soon. There are a couple bags I want from them that aren't distributed elsewhere.
Just bought my first dooney and have really put her through the ringer. The quality is insane!!!! I had a Louis viutton and a couple coach bags on my list and they've all been pushed back. My next two bags will be doonies.
Last time I checked out a few Kate spade bags I wasn't super impressed but I have heard good things in the past.
I think Kate Spade and MK are well made. I have to say that for me personally Tory Burch has been the worst.
I can also vouch for the impressive quality of the Dooney bags, too bad I don't care for most of their styles, they just seem rather basic to me.......not to mention how heavy most of them are.
I love great leathers which they have in spades but don't like lugging that much weight around so I stay away from Dooney for that reason.

The quality of Dooney and Bourke is indeed great but I find most of their styles too heavy for me.
I know coach is a hit or miss for many but all my coach bags have held up really well even when i wasn't too kind to them
