That's nice. Then I guess if they really couldn't repair the original solitaire setting, you'd just have to have the diamond set in another plain band and could still use the ring guard. Very nice. Congratulations, again.
I am sooooo happy for you! What a gorgeous find. It's all very exciting. If the setting in the solitaire is not save, I would have a new setting made. You saved so much money; it's really worth it.
From your first 'OMG' thread I understood that all the parts were soldered together. It really has added value that you can wear it as a solitaire as well as in a stacked set!!!

me too - maybe to match the ring guard a little better or wear solo. I really love the ring guard on its own - gorgeous - the stone is gorgeous too. wowza

Id love to see a pic of it as a solitaire...I bet its stunning. I agree that maybe in the long run you can have her remounted into a new setting...Id go for something simple & delicate that would focus on the stone. Maybe a simple thin pave band semi-mount

Honestly... I really like the way it's set! It's all white gold. Well, except for all the little diamonds in the other two bands. I love it!
My wedding ring I'm wearing right now is pave set. I guess I just don't like it to sparkly. LOL!
