What DQ said is right. It will fade over time, but without rubbing, it will be a long time!!

If you send it to the spa, they will likely do to it exactly what DQ did to her Barenia Kelly.

the good thing is, if you send it to the spa, I would imagine a craftsman('s assistant) will sit there and rub the barenia all day long for you until it's gone. :smile1:

So, DQ, basically my little girl has big 'ol ZIT on her, and if I put enough medicine on it and rub it in really, really good, it won't leave too big a scar. Now you see why I am afraid to take out my vache natural bolide and farming basket! BTW, what do you use to treat your VN? Does it change the color?

^NO! The more you use barenia, the better it gets!! Don't be afraid to take it out...it's like boxcalf, it goes through that horrible stage before it hits the beautiful stage.

I don't do anything to my VN....THAT I would be too scared to treat.

Oh my gosh, this is always a bit of a heart stopping moment, the first time your barenia gets a spot on it! It's like a scratch or pebble ding on a brand new car.
As most are saying, the character of barenia is such that it's meant to have spots and marks and "figuring". You just got there a little sooner than expected, yes? Try not to worry--it doesn't detract at all from the beauty of your lovely Picotin, and now she's really and truly yours

Thanks for your kind words, Cynthia! The car analogy is perfect! (I can really relate since I just got a new car.) I am trying to take it in stride. And, you are right, now she really does bear a sign of belonging to me!

I feel your pain, L2SH

My new barenia Picotin had a nose-smudge mark on it within a few days. I'm kinda thinking that sunscreen smudge at least looks a bit cooler and less geeky than nose-smudge marks. Every time I look at the smudge, I can't quite decide if I'm embarrassed or not. Sigh

Wow, I at least made it 24 hours...:roflmfao:

I think we're definitely soul sisters. Which should make you really careful to make sure I NEVER have access to your bag collection.

You can try bringing it into H. However, from my own experience, it's unlikely it will disappear. I had a thumb print size water mark on mine shortly after I got it and it never came out. However, on brighter note, it's the imperfections that give the Barenia it's character. The bag appears to acquire a depth. In fact, I have known used, "beaten up" Barenias fetched much more money than when they were new. People love them stressed. It's so cool with anything from jeans to shorts. I know it's hard but you will grow to love it even more with all the "dings".

Sorry this has happend to you gorgeous bag!. Crazy question,Box gets really shiny when it reaches its patina what does barenia do get a even darkness color?Or does it get shiny?I am really interested in this leather.:smile1:
