I searched quite extensively and could not find an answer, so I wanted to post as I am quite devastated right now.

Tonight, my husband and I were at dinner. We have no idea how this could have possibly happened, but what appears to be red wine (I am really not sure, but it's dark and sticky) was spilled all over my Barenia B30. I had text my SA to ask if it could be remedied via spa, but she said that she did not think this is fixable; I am absolutely beyond heartbroken.

I was hoping that someone could perhaps chime in to say whether they have experienced something similar, and if there is some remeditation possibility here. Pics to follow, and I did message docricde, but any advice would be truly appreciated. <3

Oh my goodness. I have no advice other than to contact docride here on the forums, but I am so sorry this happened to you!

Thank you so much - I'll wait to hear back from her and definitely hope for the best! But your nice post did make me feel a little better - thank you!

Yikes. Barenia is a workhorse, but it's fragile too. Still take it into your H store and see what they say. Maybe they can work magic especially if the stains are new.

Yes, it is definitely a contradictory leather, I am finding - a true workhorse and yet a little fragile. I absolutely love it, but this definitely has me a little shaken!

Oh J, I’m sorry, no advice other than wait to hear from @docride before you attempt to treat it.

xoxo - thank you so much sweetheart. <3 <3

Sorry no advice but I'm close to tears for you. Not to make things worse but I'm literally close to tears

:hugs: thank you so much - I did spend a little bit of time in tears when we came home, too!

My heart breaks for you. Can you send it to spa and let them try? In the end having scratches, stains and unevenness in Patina is part and parcel of owning Barenia. Red wine (or gravy) will probably stain, whether it is Heritage or Faubourg.

Oh no!!!! I am so sorry to see your post...I hope docride has a good suggestion for you. If you get a suggestion, I would try it on the lowest part of the bag to see if it works before you proceed with anything further. Ask your SA if there is a craftsperson nearby that can look at it (if you live in city that has more than one H). Or reach out to your SA a second time to ask his/her peers or the SM, if they have seen this happen before and if they have suggestions for you besides spa. Sending hugs your way. :hugs:

Omggggg I just died. What isssss that??? Oh I feel so bad for you ... this is devastating!!!! Ugh ugh what ISSSSS THAT?!!! The waiter maybe splattered or spilled? I’m sending you hugs as I have no advice. I’m so so sorry J!!!!

Gently wipe it with a moist towel
Clear the stickiness
Then put some baby powder over it
Repeatedly for days
Till it dry up

Thank you so much - I will absolutely try this.

Thank you! It is so crappy... I don't know how something got spilled on it! I did text my SA and she said it was doubtful they could remedy, but that they'd try. Bleh!

:hugs: Thank you so much! Thankfully we are in Vegas next week which is where my home store is, so I'll bring it to them then. Fingers crossed!

Try talcum powder. If it is an oil based stain it will soak it up. It won’t damage the leather.

Thank you so much. <3

Ugh... babe, I have no idea how it happened. That's our best guess, too, is that the waiter had to have splattered, because DH was drinking bourbon and I had champagne. No clue where the red wine or whatever this is came from. Hugs. :hugs: <3 <3 <3
