Barenia croc/alligator Birkin

As featured in Le Monde, page 70. Has anyone seen one in real life? Is it Croc or Alligator or is it as someone suggested in another thread embossed Barenia? I have the opportunity to order one but no SA can actually confirm what it is, so any help would be appreciated. TIA

That's what I'm hoping Docride! I just can't see it being embossed croc/alligator from Hermes somehow.

No, I don't feel that it could possibly be embossed to looking Alligator or crocodile.. My thoughts are this is some sort of exotic skin (alliagtor or crocodile) and that it's oil tanned barenia style...I am leaning toward it being alligator... Good luck and do tell what you find out :o)

In the back it says "fauve Barenia alligator" so I doubt it's embossed, but you could ask the SM to be sure. They can phone Paris if need be.

The SM had no idea lol, hence why I thought I'd ask here. Mind you I'm going to Paris next month, so I might ask there as well and see what they say

My SA told me it's exotic with a special long process that makes it soft and velvety like Barenia.

LOL! This is why my Sa told me about it...she knows how much I love Barenia

Are we sure it is a new process? It looks exactly like matte alligator in "fauve" or formerly "Barenia" color to me. Gorgeous and velvety.

I agree. It's not embossed. It's real gator.

I have been given a very serious confirmation darling!!!!!!!!!!! it's alligator tanned and crafted the way barenia leather is done. it's alligator because its the only skin that can resist the treatment and oils and well the barenia process,I'm told it will age and generate patina like barenia does including sense and even prone to scratches but its beautiful !!!!!!
