I just bought a jar of bareminerals from a seller on eBay.. the seller is "brandnameskincare". I thought it felt different than my old jar which was purchased from Sephora. I called bareMinerals company. They assured me that no one on eBay is licensed to sell their products. And also my jar was NOT sealed.. they said all their products are sealed. This seller is a lier and a cheat.. I am in the middle of a dispute thru PayPal. The seller did say she would refund my money but I am not going to send the product back until my credit card is credited the full amount I paid her!!!
Do not purchase bareMinerals from eBay.. they are not authorized to sell it there at all!!

I think very few *bay sellers are affiliated w/ companies. Hardly anyone selling something that has a brand name (Ford, MJ, SFAM, Bare Escentuals, MAC, LV, Chanel...) is authorized or licensed to sell on *bay, but that doesn't mean it's not authentic. Sellers aren't associated w/ the companies.

if you're still interested, i just bought the exact same color at sephora in columbus circle, nyc over the weekend and it looks the same as the one you got on ebay. hope it helps!

I think the last kit I bought from QVC had some items that were packaged in the netherlands. Also, some items that aren't sealed may be from a kit and they're selling them individually.

i purchased mineral veil from ebay and then noticed that the pic on the auction had Amsterdam Netherlands on it. i was so upset, i insisted on a refund from the seller. i called bare escentuals this am and inquired if Netherlands was now on their product labels and was told "no". I forgot that i just recently purchased a starter kit and miscellaneous items directly from bare escentuals web site for my daughter's birthday...well guess what...all items including starter kit have Amsterdam Netherlands on their labels....do you think bare escentuals is trying to make us think that we cannot find their products for a bit less than they charge?? of course, i would still be careful when purchasing from ebay..make sure they have a good positive feedback score.

First of all, I wouldn't buy any loose powder make up on eBay at all. Chances are they would switch out the powders, pigments, etc...

I've had this happened before. I would suck it up and pay full price at the store.

For what's it's worth. I bought a "Discover" kit from Ulta this past weekend. The jars were sealed in the sense that they had stickers that covered the holes of the sifters. I would think brand new jars would at least have that. Otherwise, it would be a mess opening them for the first time.

I just checked the box my kit came in. It says "Distributed by Bare Escentuals San Francisco, CA" and it has a the Amsterdam, Netherlands address below that.

They both look fake to me.
The labels on both are wrong.

I just received my bare minerals from sephora. I too looked first on ebay but found alot of fakes. So I rather spend a bit more and get the real thing.

I hope some how you get your money back!

Good luck.
