I admired Gvasalia's courage to push the boundaries. If he is listening to customer feedback and iterate his future design mixing what people originally loved and his vision, this could land in a great innovation (e.g. Small, soft structured Ice skating bag with ME Bal hardware). The small bazaar, for example, is a more palatable idea, compared to the much larger sister, though for me personally, still lacks the Bal edge.

Having said that, if the boundary is pushed and no feedback is taken, then highly likely that Demna G will lose the original Bal followers, and that is a pity.

Of course this is just me, one of many customers, one of the admirers of classic Bal style, so uncertain if this represents customers.

But I do hope that Demna Gvasalia is a member of this forum and reading this!

Well, some look really unusual... but i think not all of them are meant to be worn on daily basis, they must be just pointing out the fashion direction in a bit exaggerated way, but i must admit i really liked the small orange triangle bag! It's very cute and i'd wear it with jeans and white shirt.... i like this 'out of the box' playing with shapes
The only thing that is bugging me is the BALENCIAGA written all across the bag
:annoyed:

The skater bag does nothing for me but I love that cushion bag/briefcase whatever it is called! Particularly the striped versions. I think it would be perfect for work.

And I have said it before but I say it again. To me, the Bazar bag is much more faithful to the original Moto bags than the latest iterations of these with embossed and smoth leathers or variations on the hardware. It not only makes the crackled smooshy better-with-wear leather again the protagonist but it brings back the edginess and attitude.

AMEN!!!! One of the things that I've always liked about Balenciaga, is the fact that the name wasn't plastered (or logos) all over the bag. Personally, can't say any of the 'new' bags excite me at all (I do love the Blackout bag though).

That was another main thing (apart from great style) which attracted me to Bal, really not many brands can skip this part of marketing, proudly providing fabulous quality and style, which make their products well recognized without screaming logos or brand name.....

The lookbook for Balenciaga Pre-Fall was released today. It's available to view HERE on Vogue.

Here is some information on the inspiration for the new bags:

"What comes more to the fore here is Gvasalia’s knack for applying social observation and the inspiration of ordinary everyday objects to his design... Thus, there’s a new square striped bag in the shape of a padded café cushion, while the triangular one started life as a ski-shoe carrier. Both those are bound to be picked up by avant-garde trophy hunters..."

Ice Skating Bag (name TBD... and I think Vogue meant to say ice skates and not ski-shoes because I googled pictures of ice skate carriers and they're triangle)

Yes, my instant reaction to this was: sports gear bags! Ice skates and even Fila tennis racket cover! A small one as a clutch is ok, but pass [emoji851]

I go crazy over stripes but no, these are not for me. I grab too many shopping bags from Home Sense that have this look although not top zip! Hey, I should find my lovely Wonder Woman reusable bag from comic book store! Yellow submarine - all those great recycled bags selling at VPL book store - some are super cute thicker than Ikea bags.
