it doesn't have ANY purple undertones IRL
Thanks! I keep going back and forth on this baby, but the consensus is that it is very close to black. I have too many black bags to justify another.

It is really dark. After I received that pic I went over to Barneys which is closer to my office to see it IRL. I had my black Velo with me and the color was too close. I'm sure under very bright/natural light it is lighter, but indoors it is really close to black.
Thank goodness for this thread: Perth gets Bal things months after everyone else in the world who's reading this thread gets/sees theirs. This thread where everyone has seen things IRL allows me to decide well in advance what I will/won't be spending my money on.

I just got concrete evidence on the F/W 2011 colors from Jojo. My heart is beating so fast I am so excited, and had to share with my TPF sisters!!!
Colors:
Cyclamen-a saturated dark sorbet/ Magenta-ish toned pink. Deep and rich-no purple tones. I am not a pink person and this one speaks to me!
Bleu Paon-a rich turquoise, like a mix of 05 Turquoise, Cyclade and Aquamarine. Stunning. Will come in RH, RGGH and SGH, not just the limited GGH. I need something in this color even though I already have Cyclade RGGH! I am smitten!
Bleu Lavande-a deep blue purple. Like a mix of Outremer, Marine and Raisin (but with no red tones in the purple).Not as dark as Officier, not as bright as Outremer. A great color for those who love blues and purples..
Coquelicot-deep poppy orange red....like Rouille and Tomato mixed. Rich and delicious and nothing like Sang at all-and not too bright/shocking.
Champagne-a light golden champagne color, like you poured yourself a glass! Subtle shimmer, but not metallic. Should be stunning with RGGH.
Papyrus-a mid toned neutral brown, like a mix of Noix and Galet. Not as light as Galet. Maybe a little more on the cool side. Very versatile.

Metallics!!!!!!!! Only available in RH City....
Argent Fonce: Silvery covered deep green-but heavy on the silver/platinum. Like if you painted over evergreen with silver. Its striking!
Argent Clair-pure platinum silvery color. Stunning. A true statement metallic.

Those of you looking at maybe getting S/S 2011 colors should jump on them now because the F/W 2011 colors are nothing at all like the S/S ones!

I think the consensus on Dark Night is going to be much like Anthra. Some will say it has no undertones; others will say it does; some will say it is close to black in color; others will say it isn't. I have dumped most of my Anthra bags due to the greenish undertones that other people swear they don't see in theirs but I'm sure I would see if I were able to inspect their bags IRL.
Color is subjective which has been stated a thousand times in this forum. Boutique lighting will make a color look completely different than natural lighting or florescent. So until I have DN in my hands to look over, I'm going to ignore the speculations and opinions here even though I really do appreciate the input from others!

I've been burned before by ordering/buying a bag "sight-unseen". I'm super-picky about the leather and the color is also tough based on the Color swatches Balenciaga puts out. So, while I may miss out (and god knows - I have several times), at least when I get to the see the item IRL .. and still love it, then it's a keeper!
I saw the Dark knight color yesterday in person. IMO it looks more like a very dark NAVY. I really like the color IRL. I took it out of the store and it looked slightly different like more blue. I LOVE it!!! but ROEY is right it is perspective and lighting.
This is how I imagine it would look - very dark in the boutique/store lighting and a bit brighter outside.
I dumped a lot of anthras too, because the first one I had which I purchased at Greta
Luxe, was perfect, the right anthra for me at least, no green at all, but I sold it
for something, in a haste, then I got 4 more, never again found the one I loved the
most.
But now I gave up on the anthra idea, I missed officer, wanting a dark blue bag,
not wanting black, but more dark blue, I think I give DN a try.
