What I don't understand is if jojo is so eager to share the new color descriptions with us, then why can't she (or have Susan) post the swatches so we have a visual to accomany the descriptions?

The reason why is because she is not allowed to post them. S/S Main collection is not out yet, cannot post F/W. Bal policy. The day will come when she can share :D

Roey: IMHO I have also been wondering for a while (not just for jojo but with other sellers who have the swatches) and the only reason I can think of from a business point of view is that Bal still has one collection of bags to sell before F/W and releasing the swatches may cause eg the S/S main collection not selling well since no one will be focussed on Main anymore. Sellers probably get the swatches ahead just cos Bal needs these buyers to get excited and place many many orders. Just my humble opinion but I kinda think it boils down to marketing and profits

that said, I reaaaally can't wait for the F/W swatch to be posted!!!

^^Actually *madeofdreams*, you're spot-on! I've been told by Bal buyers that they are prohibited from providing the swatches for the exact reason that you note above. If you think about it, it does kind of make sense .. in that they don't want people to be "saving their money" for the next go-round (which is exactly what I'm going to be doing :graucho:!).

^ that totally makes sense...but every season i just say i'm gonna wait for the next, it seems like in the past the colors were much more vibrant and deeper....my search continues for something like a rouge vif or a sapphire/violent/ or ink.

it seems like none of the colors coming out these days are as rich as in previous years..

Woo-Hoo :yahoo:... will add that store to my list of Italy boutiques that carry Balenciaga!!!! I'll be going to Bergamo in Sept-Oct!

Yay for visiting Bergamo, such a lovely city! I'll gladly give you directions to the boutique...it's right in front of the Court of Bergamo, every time I have a hearing that goes badly I go in there and let Bal cheer me up :p

Susan-thanks so much for the info! I haven't been too tempted by the latest colors, but some of these F/W colors are very interesting! :graucho: Love the descriptions of Bleu Paon, Bleu Lavande, and Champagne. I also wish the Coquelicot wasn't an orangey-red, but I guess that will make it easier to pass up! I can't wait to see the swatches when they are released!

I did not mean any disrespect to jojo. It just didn't click with me why the swatches could not be posted if the colors and descriptions are already out. And from the way the descriptions are worded, it sounds like both jojo and Susan already have the swatches in their possesion but I have found out that is not the case. Thanks for the clarification Susan and madeofdreams. :D

I understand Bal's business rationale regarding posting color swatches and/or making them available to the public..... but IMO if the color descriptions are "out there" and the swatches do exist why not make them accessible.

Here's another thought though - If the swatches were available to everyone in advance.....One might take a 180 and argue that if a potential customer doesn't like what will be coming out in a future collection then they may go ahead and purchase a current color - one that they were thinking about and liked.....it could work both ways.

It's always been my experience in business that the logic behind one company's rules/practices is also the basis for a completely dissimilar policy in another.

But then again.....if the swatches were posted :p the fun in quessing/wondering would be gone.
