Bags that you absolutely love but never could bring yourself to carry?

I would probably never buy a Hermes bag..they are too structured for me. I do love to see other people rockin' them though!

There are actually several of their styles which are indeed soft and slouchy, also, some of the slightly structured ones come in different leathers so could be slouchy if you wanted them to be.
Not all their styles are rigid and formal infact i'd say they make something for everyone :smile1:

This is a great thread; I've enjoyed reading all of the responses. OP, it's funny because I've come across your bag (just once, a long time ago!) on eBay and almost bought it because it's so beautiful and unique but I asked myself, "Will I actually carry this?" But I agree with everyone: since you own it, carry it with or a simple outfit or display it - it's just absolutely beautiful!
To answer the thread question, I'm happy to say that I use most of the bags in my closet now. If I don't, I try to sell them since they're nearly brand new. Wait, no - scratch that. I do own a gorgeous Gryson bag that I bought in mint condition from a high end consignment shop for about $70. That bag retails around $6-or-$700. I love it but don't use it often enough because the suede is so light, it gets a tad dirtier with each use. :/ I'm normally not afraid of suede, but this is just so light...that said, I just got some special suede cleaner, so I'm going to try that on it so I can bring her out again!

Guilty of this myself. I have a few bags that I got for various reasons that don't have near the miles the others do, but I can't bring myself to part with. Maybe because they have sentiment or maybe I am afraid I'll miss them. But you got me thinking about just finding a way to break them out. It's just wasted money if you think about it.

Unless I, by some miracle, become a millionaire, I don't think I'll ever be able to carry a Chanel GST. Love the look but it's way too heavy, way too open, way too elegant and way too expensive. Birkin is another one - way too expensive for such an impractical bag. And by impractical, I mean it has no shoulder strap and the closure is so slow&fussy to use.

As much as I love the look of the hand carried bag, I can't bring myself to use the ones that I actually have. I kept those for sentimental reasons but got rid of the rest.

I love this thread it is so much fun reading all the comments. I love looking at different styles of bags but the question I always ask myself before I purchase a bag is will I wear it and is it practical. I am not an impulse buyer I over think each bag purchase and it takes me quite some time to decide what color, style etc. I have learned that I like handmade Italian leather bags because the leather is beautiful the craftsmanship amazing and they last a long time if you look after them. I have stopped buying high end designers and now buy from small Italian workshops as the price and the quality is great.

I really enjoy some of the vintage mulberry theme bags--especially with decorative rivets.
But, knowing myself too well, I'd give a teddy bear rivet 5 seconds before being scratched, torn off, or slammed into my car door.
Love when others wear them, but not safe for me.
