Just a little tip from a mom of a 16 year old. Sit down a talk to your parents about what you really want and why. I agree with Lvbabydoll, I would get a classic flap on caviar. You will have a choice of sizes and hardware ,silver or gold. I would start with basic black because that will match everything. This will be with you forever, at 16 you can carry this bag, and at 116 you can carry this bag.
More mom advice, never settle for something less that what you really want, just to say I have something. Never settle for anything , when you settle you are never happy. Oh, I am just filled with mom advice. Here it goes, ready? A 16 th birthday is a big one. If you decide that you want the Chanel ask your parents to hold the money for you until Christmas. Ask them will they be willing to go the distance with you then. If they say yes, start you looking into size and hardware color, then order in time for the holidays. Since 16 is such a big day prehaps, you and your family can go out to a nice dinner. I am sure you will get a great birthday card. Maybe you could suggest to your parents to include an IOU for the amount they are willing to spend at this time . When your friends ask what did you get for your birthday you can proudly say we had a lovely dinner ,and inside my birthday card was an IOU for $1000/1400 to get my Chanel bag at Christmas. I am sure they will say "WOW", you are so lucky!!!!!!!!! Then, there will be those who would never understand you desire for such a bag. That is a discussion for another day, LOL. Sometimes,

Thx for the GREAT advice ktown!! I may just do tht!! I would loooove a chanel, and am certainly in a dilemma!!! I will look on the chanel section in a sec!! I think I may just go to all the stores in NY, try them all out, and see which I like best, and it is definately true that I will be able to use a chanel for years to come whereas with the balenciaga or muse, for example, may date a bit quicker!!!
