Average Ring Size

left hand= 7

right hand=8 I think size 7 is the universal size as most of the sample rings in the stores are size 7. They used to be a size 6 so as with everything, things are getting bigger!

I think I previously posted in this thread but it turns out I'm actually a 2.5. I've come to find that most rings can't even be re-sized that small. Simple designs are often okay though. I would love, love, love to have an average sized finger! I've really gotten into jewellery over the past six months but I see so many gorgeous rings that I simply can't have. Same goes double for bracelets and bangles. On the plus side, smaller stones look huge on me.

I posted before also and it turns on my ring size is smaller then I thought since I am used to wearing my rings pretty loose. I am actually a 3.5 to 3.75. Rhose, have you considered having a ring special ordered for you by a jeweler? or have a jeweler make a ring specially for you in your size? My mother recently upgraded her engagement ring and our jeweler in NYC's diamond district special ordered the ring in her size(3.5)

I think 3.75 is the perfect size for me as well. The only problem is when I was pregnant, the ring wouldn't come off due to swelling in the last trimester. Then of course, when I eat more salt that normal or during my monthly cycle, it may be a little snug. 4 will turn for sure but still comfortable except when I'm typing. Jewelers love to suggest the smaller size, probably to save metal.

You know what? My jeweler says that if my knuckles ever grow to be a size 7 and my ring size is still a size 4, then i could opt to have this secret spring opening to allows me to wear the ring. The ring is made to open up like PacMan, hehe, that's the best way i could explain it. And it closes discretly and you can't even tell it has been done. And all you have to do to open it is take a fine pointed object and press on a lever. Bam, open. Cool?

My e-ring finger is a 3, my right hand is 3.5 (I'm right handed). It was kinda hard getting my e-ring but in the end Scott Kay agreed to make a mold for the setting I wanted in a 3.5 and then put sizing beads in the ring to bring it down to the 3. I wanted side stones and they claimed couldn't get them to set properly any smaller.... I'm happy with how it worked out thought. It's definitely a little challenging getting what you want with designer rings and small fingers but custom jewelers can be much more flexible....
