The story behind

Inspired by the design of the Della cavalleria scarf: A strong theme of the Émile Hermès collection is equestrian art. It is also the subject of an extraordinary treatise on horsemanship entitled Della Cavalleria, written by German author Georg Engelhard von Löhneysen and printed at his home in Bavaria in 1609. Composed of numerous baroque engravings on wood and copper, the book is an encyclopedia of not just dressage and anatomy, but also tournaments and festivities, giving rise to some remarkable and spectacular illustrations. Here, Virginie Jamin uses a few harness parts as her model, working on lines like an engraver. This emblematic design is offered this season in a new double-sided version, in multicolored madras on one side and monochrome finesse on the other.

I love everything about this scarf.
I bought this colorway to go with the winter dress in the last photo.

Gorgeous! Congrats! And, many thanks for the wonderful pictures... This is my favorite 90 of the season, and I think I’ve narrowed it down to three CWs for me, among which is your glorious one... So immensely versatile

I can understand the masks as fully worthwhile as well as using sanitizer when entering the store but applying it in-between handling various scarves? Everybody better rub it in so it doesn't spot anything. (I didn't think objects like groceries -- or scarves in this case -- convey Covid germs as well as the air in talking, sneezing, coughing, etc.). I have the feeling the use of sanitizer in-between viewing individual scarves is going to go by the wayside once the scarf counter gets crowded.
Well, once you are in front of the scarf counter they make the hand sanitizer available again and explain that we’re welcome to use it as necessary... not mandatory at all. I was super uptight the day I went in, especially because both scarves that they were holding for me had been sold, but it was a pretty relaxed experience overall

@Karenska - I think someone needs to alert Hermes of this issue, because it is negatively affecting their sales, if a scarf that is available for purchase cannot be purchased due to some glitch on their website. I have never (even though I am relatively new here) seen it take so many days before a scarf is rendered "purchaseable" on the Hermes website. That said, perhaps the scarf images on the website are merely visual placeholders until the time that the scarf in question arrives at their warehouse, and they can actually sell it?
They enjoy making things unattainable.
