The story behind
According to popular legend, steeple-chasing was born in Ireland, in the eighteenth century. Two riders, each eager to prove the unmatched quality of his horse, decided to compete in a race across country. The pair chose two prominent church towers to mark the start and finish of their course, over four miles, from one steeple to the next, tackling every possible obstacle along the way – hedges and fences, ditches, stone walls and streams. Only in the nineteenth century did races of this type receive official recognition in England, in the county of Bedfordshire. Inspired by the tough challenge of the steeple-chase, Virginie Jamin sets a host of jockeys and mounts racing around the borders of her carré, poised to gallop through the graphic, central circuit, like pieces in a colourful board game.

They really need to add the autumn scarves to the EU site. It is a very poor selection at the moment and have been for a long time now. Our store closed in January because H is opening a new one in the autumn so no store to go to either. I am really greateful to everyone who shows their modeling pics of the new season scarves since I will have to buy online once the collection is released.
The latest information I have from last Friday is that the new collection will only be available over here (Germany) the 1st of September.

This design ties so well! Is it a brand new design, or has it been adapted from other formats?

I was told by an SA in Paris that new season scarves wouldn't be on sale til August in France. I find it kind of outrageous that they're made in France but not available for sale in France for over a month later than in the US, Australia etc.
Exactely my thoughts! Not only later, but also the variety and selection of items is allways richer on the non-European sites. Very frustrating!!

I wrote a comment about this yesterday - the U.S. website is so frustrating. Almost all the new scarves indicate "The page you're looking for no longer exists." For example, the blue CW of Wild Singapore shows up but can't be clicked on, as well as so many other colorways of other designs. But yet the quantity of scarves keeps decreasing. I'm wondering if anyone is able to actually buy a new scarf on the U.S. website. Sorry for the venting.

I've been trying too, but get the same 404 error. I've seen this happen in the past, but usually it resolves itself quickly. I also tried to add a few scarf rings to my cart, but got the 'out of stock' message on 4 different items. The former web developer in me is guessing they have an issue with their database sync processes...

I've noticed that their website in the US, at least, has had issues like this since last fall. It's super frustrating. I don't know anything about website design or development, but it feels like they will add a bunch of new items and not "turn the buying feature on" right away, or until all the items have been put in, then most will get "turned on" for purchase. There always seems to be some items that don't get turned on for a long period of time, like over a weekend, then Monday, it works.

The story behind
Inspired by the design of La pâtisserie française scarf: Pierre Marie's idea for this scarf came from the pages of a French cookbook published in 1873. Le Livre de pâtisserie was the fourth book by Jules Gouffé, the son of a Parisian pastry chef renowned for his pièces montées, whose shop was located on the rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, a stone's throw from Hermès. Soon his talent had earned him the title of "the apostle of decorative cuisine". For Pierre Marie, these beautiful delicacies, amassed in a kind of culinary daydream, were irresistible. Towers of almond paste, pistachio croquembouches, decorative cake stands, colored sugars, nougatine, dessert creams and choux buns form an extravagant decor that pays tribute to the illustrator's boundless imagination.
